"I still hold my closest treasures dear to me and continue fighting the good fight... And I still remember what I always used to say: When all the odds are stacked against us and the demons laugh in our face, the only things left is our strength, courage... And Hope."Character Appearance:
Arlen himself is tall with deep red hair that's now grown much longer. His fair skin has taken scrapes and bruises, and shows signs of scarring on his body. His deep brown eyes make for a stern gaze but still reflect the warmth and kindness he's know for. Generally his postures and demeanour are straight and proper and rarely hunched; for he has little time to relax when he’s always working. His set of armor is made up of thick and heavy plates, adorned with various decor and takes a more eloquent design. Fur lines around the collar of his armor, along the edge of his long, red cloak and other kinds of padding sits underneath parts of the plating to provide warmth and comfort. The cloak is attached by a chain link, with a silver symbol of a roaring lion and his holy symbol is firmly attached to his belt. He wears a tabard at the waist, with a crest of his own design: two lions dancing around a sword. This crest also appears boldly emblazoned on the back of his cloak.
Character Personality:
Quirks:
- Arlen is a gentleman through and through, always using M’lady or Ma’am and Sir.
- In battle, he always puts himself between the enemy and his allies.
- Talks to his parents and 'the lady in red' in his morning prayers.
Arlen is a man that, from an early age, has learned about hard work. He knows his way around a smith’s hammer and a warrior’s sword and remains passionately driven by his goals. He’s nice, friendly, helpful and very much a loyal man to his friends. Despite this, he is a bit of a loner and has no friends, but those he gets attached to he would happily defend to the death. He is a man of honor and loyalty, but cannot abide by those who usurp power and twist it for their own gains. He holds great respect for honest, hardworking and kind people who help others. He does his best not to judge others on how they look, but how they act. Arlen has a love of smithing and swordplay, for most of his life that was all he ever knew. Nowadays his hobbies include listening to others sing and perform, as well as exploring the world and seeing new sights. Things are only a little bit easier, but Arlen doesn’t ease up on his workload and sets himself new tasks when the old ones have been completed. It would please him no greater than to have an honorable Lord or Lady to serve as a knight.
In battle, he has lately taken an aggressive, but tempered combat stance. Having lost many friends in his lifetime, his attitude takes a sombre tone and even with all his experience, Arlen still has a lot to prove. He still wishes to create a legacy and leave the world in a better place when it is his time to leave it.

Character Background:
Growing up, Arlen had a difficult lifestyle; for his father was not around since he was a baby and his mother, Alexus, had a hard time providing for the boy. When your family has virtually nothing to its name, you scrape from the bottom of the barrel and claw your way up, fighting tooth and nail for just simple scraps of wealth and prosperity. Each day was the same: wake up, hard labour, sleep, rinse and repeat. From an early age, Arlen was sympathetic to his mother who came home each day haggard to make it so they weren’t living in the gutter. The main source of income in Lin Rah came from the workshops and smithies and Arlen found himself quite attuned to working with tempered steel. As a favor to his mother, a local smith referred to as “Rusty” by townsfolk took Arlen on as an apprentice and made him work the tools of the forge. With this, he helped to make a decent living for himself and his mother.
In his teenage years, he grew up strong and healthy, despite the toxicity of the town and its people; with constant fighting and bar brawls, thievery and backstabbing, it was quite dangerous. Still, the more responsibility that Arlen took on in the forge, the less pressure that Alexus felt, but it did little to mend her failing health. He dreamed of one day becoming a noble knight, just like in the stories that Alexus told him as a young boy. Arlen had dreams of slaying deadly beasts, protecting the towns and all of his loved ones from danger, rescuing innocents from trouble and being recognised as a kind and noble figure. This interrupted his time smithing, but Rusty was an understanding person and could not n'or would he ever crush the young man's dreams. In him, Rusty saw a little bit of himself when he was younger and came to call the boy 'son' or 'sonny' from time-to-time.
“For a man to become a knight, they are to be just and true. They right the wrongs in the world, protect the innocent and show courage in the face of great evil or danger. Of course, they gotta have awesome armor and a big sword too!”
So on his 18th birthday, one of the swords that Arlen conveniently worked on was given to him as a gift from Rusty. Every day since then, he would go around the back and practice his swings; copying styles that he saw from other soldiers/guards in town and anywhere that he could find. Fate was a cruel and sinister entity, for as Arlen grew stronger and more independent; his mother grew weaker and frail to the point that she became bedridden. Life had then become more than a battle, but a nigh-insurmountable obstacle for the young man. Unbeknownst to Arlen, he had an innate strength of character. When his inner demons and that of his mother’s came down to break everything that they worked for, Arlen would fight back twice as hard. He began taking double shifts as well as caring for his mother in his time off. Day in day out it was like this for several years. Yet tragedy, unlike Arlen, does not need to rest. When Arlen was 22, one night his mother called for him.
“Look at you; my brave and hardworking little boy. I’m so sorry for putting you through all this. Oh how my baby’s grown up. .. Mommy’s very proud of her knight in shining armor, just like she was proud of your gallant father. I love you very much, and if your father were here, he would love you and be proud of you all the same.”
Arlen did not leave his mother’s side that whole night, sitting by her bedside all that time. The only break in this tragedy, the one good thing about it all, was that she passed away peacefully in the night. The funeral was brief for little could be said, but for the young man it was empty and unfulfilled. Tried as he did to work hard and earn money to make her better, there was nothing that worked and it hurt him more than her death; because deep down he felt he disappointed his mother for not having been there to help, despite knowing the fact that was nothing else he could’ve done. The claws of the grasping grave ripped a part of his life out from him, leaving it empty. There was much left that he wanted to learn and so much more that he wanted to show his mother, the only family he had. Arlen wanted to grow up and become a noble hero and he wanted his mother to be there to witness it all and cheer him on.
He resigned himself to the monotonous and joyless ritual of his day in day out job at the smithy. Everything became a robotic routine with no excitement and pleasure in store for him. Rusty saw the degeneration of this young man’s spirit over a couple of years and being the only one left to have any sway with him. As much as he couldn’t be a proper father, he felt responsibility for looking after the boy and tried one more wake-up call.
“Look, son. Your father and mother may be gone, but you shouldn’t give up your life yet! Your parents wouldn’t want to see you waste away and not pursue your dreams. Would you become one of the masses and disappear into the crowd? I thought you wanted better for yourself! Your mother saw a lot in you and she wouldn’t want you to give up the fight. She’s watching you from up there aside the great gods and goddesses of the world… They’re ALL watching you. Life is hard for you, I get that, but the point of being a man is about showing the courage to face all your fears and hardships, no matter how hard or fearsome they may be. There are people out there that will need you, and if you want to see your mother smiling down at you… Wake up and seize the day!”
Wake up and seize the day…
This is where Arlen’s true story began, where he turned his life around. He practiced harder, grew stronger, and trained for longer and even made his own set of armor. Upon the chest piece was the symbol of a lion: the epitome of bravery and ferocity. In the recent days, Arlen felt a calling; a figure in shining armor and intricate regalia touched his dreams and spoke to him when he prayed. Though he had no idea what she figure said, it was soft-spoken and warmed his soul. She comforted him, soothed him and when he felt at his lowest this armor-clad heroine would visit his dreams again and pull him into the light. Not once did Arlen see her face and he can't recall why, but the shining armor, bright regalia, lion sigil and the color of red were clear as day. From these dreams he garnered 2 names: Lyphion, and Rook. He had the distinct vision of the city of Rook in his mind thereafter. With that, he packed what he could and left for the metropolitan free city. Arriving in Rook, he saw many different men and women of varying shapes, sizes and demeanor… All of them gathered at this city for one purpose or another. Adventurers from all walks of life came to-and-fro among the streets and this was something that Arlen hadn't experienced before. It was here that Arlen would do two things: pursue his dreams of becoming a knight, and chasing after Lyphion, the armor-clad lady in red of his dreams. For it was Lyphion that gave Arlen his divine spark and motivation; giving him power and conviction he never thought he had. The city of Rook needed a man like Arlen, and he was quite happy to answer the hero's call and find his place.
A lot had happened to Arlen in his time within Rook: meeting powerful allies and equally powerful enemies... Enemies that have slaughtered countless innocents in order to hurt him and those around him. Killers, monsters, aliens, abominations, undead... Arlen has fought and continues to fight against them. He's no longer a soft lad; having developed a tough exterior. Many of his friends left him behind, but in turn he found new allies and still carries on his great causes. After a fleeting store of confidence, Arlen took it upon himself to travel with his companion Dawnfeather, in a soul-searching venture and near-solitary quest of redemption. He returned to his home, where he thought home was... And it felt alien to him. Lin Rah gave him fond memories of a time when the young man was happy in his childhood... With his only family around. It was then that he wondered about the rest of his family; who they were, what they're doing and if they're still alive. The people dearest to him now only remain in his head and his heart, and it is there that he fervently guards them like treasure. After Lin Rah, he continued travelling the continent with Dawnfeather... Until now, 1 year and 4 months after his departure from the Temple of Lyphion he founded in Rook... Until now, he came back. To him, much had changed and so little had changed all at once. He came back stronger and more resolute; having renewed his faith and his focus. The Temple of Lyphion, The Order of the Climbing Ivy, the Adventurers and Heroes of Rook... He would fight to keep them going; working harder to bring them into a better light in the eyes of the people. In time, hopefully he would join the ranks of the heroes. When his time is done, the people of the world will remember his legacy.
The inner demons continue to torment and press their assaults, but Arlen Senshi Seiichi continues fighting…

Downtime Activities:
Crafting (Arms & Armor); Check [16] - 10gp, 7sp - 04/12/2015As the young Paladin's influence grows with every word of his good deeds, he managed to find a smith who is humble in accepting his help. The boisterous middle-aged orc, called Grond, took to taking light jabs at Arlen's disposition but accepted him as an apprentice for his willingness to work and his patience. With this, Arlen is able to work for fair pay and continue learning the tools of the trade.
Crafting (Arms & Armor); Check [16] - 10gp, 7sp - 16/12/2015 Grond didn't expect Arlen to come work the forge at all this week, considering what he heard the young man went through. However, he couldn't argue with the man's drive and passion... Besides, he needed the help filling in a big order. The clash of hammer and steel was driven with more purpose and feeling; for even though Arlen was told to rest up and take things easy, he couldn't help but push himself further.
Crafting (Arms & Armor); Check [19] - 12gp, 6sp - 28/12/2015 Arlen returns to full form back in the orc's smithy, showing a nice improvement, which is evident in the quality of the pieces. Grond decides to up the man's wage as his skill improves; content that his apprentice is learning well. He decides to allow the young man to work on more complicated suits of armor as well as more intricate weaponry.
Capital and Building Planning (Construction of Temple & Rooms) - 6280gp - 01/01/2016 (to be completed 10/01/2016) As his name circulated more among the populace of Rook, people were beginning to recognize him and his deeds; mostly good, some ill. However, Arlen felt that he could do a lot more to help the city and its people, so he formed an idea in his head. While spreading the good will, earning fame as a do-gooder and helping out the citizens, he would make plans to construct a great temple/sanctuary within the Haven district of Rook. With this in mind, the temple could offer more services to the citizens and reach a lot more people than Arlen himself could. So it was set in motion that he would fund construction of a temple to his deity for the people of Rook; which would serve as a place of worship, knowledge, comfort and sanctuary for any good-natured citizen that needed it. It was about time that Arlen spread word of his faith, the very thing that gave him the strength to become who he is today.
Temple Expansion (Room Constructions and Hiring Teams) - 3770gp - 8/08/2016 (to be completed 18/08/2016) With Arlen's return and increased motivation to his causes, he decided to fund the expansion of the Temple of Lyphion so it can expand its services and help the citizens of Rook better. His deeds have gained influence within the city of Rook and more people are happy to help, which also flocks more to Arlen's religion. Regardless, the temple expansions will provide more services to the people and will garner more influence for the faith. Current Wealth: 1788gp, 0sp, 2cp, 28 Influence

Goals:
Retribution for a Drow Mage, Redemption for a fool; Tricked and rendered helpless by a drow's sorcery, he watch as she drove a tool of murder through a young boy's skull. The guilt and shame of having a hand in the boy's death, however slight, has gripped him quite tightly. The trauma will stay with him for a long time to come, but Arlen has sworn that he will face the consequences of his responsibilities and bear it all no matter the burden. One day, he will become stronger and learn to bear the weight of his burdens, and will deal swift and righteous retribution to that Drow Sorceror who tricked him and took the boy's life, as well as the lives of many other innocents in their subsequent battles.
Become a Knight; Ever since he was a little boy, he had heard stories of brave heroes slaying deadly beasts and monsters, marauding bandits and protecting the innocent. Arlen idolized these kinds of people and he adopted this ideal during his teenage years. In a way, this pushed him to work and train harder, even when he was struggling with two jobs as well as caring for his mother. His mother's passing was the final push that sent him on an inwards journey. In his mind, he believes he can perform great deeds of heroism and he desires nothing more than to help, heal and protect the weak, the innocent and the wounded. Arlen will make mistakes like anyone who lacks experience, but one day... Just one day... A good-hearted noble or liege will knight the young man and fulfill his dreams. Only then will he accept that his mother can look down on him with pride.
Who is the Lady in Red? As Arlen explores his dreams and attempts to understand his capabilities, he hopes he can prove that the existence of 'The Lady in Red' to other people.
Who's your daddy? No recollection of a father in his life, he hasn't had a lot of time to think about the whereabouts of his father... But he often does wonder who he was, even if his mother told him very little.

Dawnfeather, Herald of SunriseThe winds were cold, up high in the mountains, but here she felt the free winds; where they carried her scent, what scents she could pick up and where the winds guided her to go. Alone, she had the freedom with the cost of isolationism. Mates were few-and-far between, but here she was at peace. This day's cold, morning winds were especially biting today, but she relaxed in her dwelling. The sun rose up high and basked the mountains in a radiant and faintly orange glow, with the sudden warmth sending shivers throughout her body. She ruffled her feathers and let the wings spread and stretch out before resting once again. She twitched and sniffed the air, then raised her head... She felt something... The winds. At the edge of her domain, she felt the winds directing her down to the lands below, the sun giving her a designated mark. She descended down from the mountains, down to the rolling plains outside of Rook, the silhouette of the grandiose sunlight at her back. Down in the plains she saw a man, knelt in what looked to be prayer. The sun chose this man and the winds carried her to him. With a glorious cry, she made her presence known and the man rose, gazing up at the majestic creature in awe.
This was their first meeting; the start of many adventures yet to come and the start of a bond forged in blood, sacrifice and friendship.Dawnfeather is the name that Arlen gave to her when they first met; for she brought hope and friendship when she descended down to greet him. She could have very well come from the heavens when the sun was at her back and casting her in a beautiful glow. She is a Griffin that's considerably stronger than most, with thick and powerful legs, multi-toned feathers and deep orange eyes. Since her meeting with Arlen, Dawnfeather has accompanied the paladin on all of the missions and adventures, sticking to his side and doing her best to protect him from harm. She aggressively charges her foes; ripping them apart with beak and talons, or overpowering them with her might, pinning them helpless to the ground. On more than one occasion, Dawnfeather has saved Arlen's life, showing her loyalty and compassion for her friend. Likes: Boar Meat, Long naps, Bonfires, Mountain ranges Dislikes: Animated buildings, Spiders, Ballistas

Allies and Subordinates
Arianna ThorneAnother log onto the fire, the spreading of salt and finish off with a twirl of a wand. The religious pyre burned brightly, letting the warmth spread out into the vicinity, and the duty was done. She sighed with content and rested her hands on the book dangling from her belt; thick and heavy, leather binding and gold-trimmed. It was a treasure to be sure, but not in the eyes of many... And that's what makes it precious.
At times early on in her life, particularly her childhood, the sight of a roaring open fire would tremble her to the bone... It still does to a slight degree. But now she has focus, drive and a means to be safe and secure. She looked back at her hero; simple, prone to mistakes, yet honest and a good heart. His struggles coincided with hers and she knows this all too well. The young priestess has felt his pain, it's easy to read in her case and yet he still finds the time to help those less fortunate than himself. Here he is giving so much when he's lost so much in turn.
She took a deep breath and turned back to the pyre, tapping the book idly. With motivation, belief in a just, true cause and a great set of skills, she vowed to help as many people as she could. This solemn vow didn't need any words, no grand display, no declaration.
Just one simple gesture.
Info: Age - 24 Height - 5'7" Weight - 103lbs Hometown - Rook Family - Mother, Father, 3 brothers (2 older, 1 younger) and 1 sister (younger)
Traits: dutiful, loyal, caring, quiet
As young woman with an air of grace, Arianna used to be a part of the minor noble house of Thorne, before she was disowned for being a disappointment in the parents' eyes. The years of abuse in her childhood (which includes burn scars, lashes, sleeping on a bed of nettles and days of isolation) with the eventual disownment left her traumatized. She struggled to survive on the streets of Rook, resorting to unsavoury means for basic supplies and squatting in derelict homes. Arianna was found by Arlen, escorted back to the Temple of Lyphion and brought into good health again. She stayed at the temple until she was healthy and then volunteered her time to work.. And over time she developed a pious appreciation for Arlen and the religion he followed, thus adopting it herself. She has been a priestess at the temple for a few years and oversees much of the daily tasks, as well as helps the acolytes in their studies and training. Her current conditions have rendered her incapable of direct spellcasting, but her knowledge and her supplies of potions, scrolls and wands have been extremely beneficial. Karena Damodred"Alright! I'm Karena Damodred, but YOU will refer to me as Ma'am, Miss or Boss! WE are here to protect the visitors and guests to this temple and the overall citizenry of Rook. It does not matter their standings in the city, as they're ALL under our care! You DO NOT fight with intent to kill citizens, but monsters, demons and devils are free reign, UNLESS TOLD OTHERWISE! I will not tolerate abuse of authority and I will not tolerate shirking responsibility. WE support a good cause and WE are vigilant to keep it so!"
The tall, fiery-haired woman stands up straight and holds her hand out, pointing at the formation of guards lined up in front of her. She motions it across the formation, then tightens it into a fist before smashing it into her other hand.
"IF you cause trouble, abuse your rights or make the innocent of this temple suffer... I WILL bust your balls and make you cry like a pansy bitch! AM I CLEAR?!"
She saluted the guard formation before dismissing them to go about their duties. In truth, she loved them like family. She CERTAINLY wasn't going to coddle them like babies, but she'll make sure they stay on the right track and look after them. Her mass of fiery hair disguised the smile on her face.Info: Age - 33 Height - 6'1" Weight - Never asked (I don't dare) Hometown - Rook Family - Father, Sister (younger) and a pet dog (Jaskal) Traits: Tough, Stern, Hardworking, Energetic Karena is the Guard Captain responsible for security and keeping the peace in the Temple of Lyphion. An unruly guardsman, she was relinquished of duty for her attitude despite her accomplishments in protecting Rook; from the likes of bandits, orc barbarians, monsters and minor planar creatures. Karena became dejected with the lack of responsibility and thus shiftless... That is until she came across the curious sight of the Lyphion Temple, which she explored quite thoroughly before deciding to spark her enthusiasm and demand a job. She approached Arlen with determination and fire in her eyes, sporting that boisterous attitude of hers and expressed her desire to help him. Surprised and equally enthusiastic by the demand, Arlen put her on a trial period, where they learned more about eachother and she was relatively converted to the cause. In the years that followed, she underwent extensive retraining. This retraining coincided with her new aspirations and beliefs, and over time she became affiliated with the clergy as the resident hard ass with a heart of gold. Despite her intimidating presence, she is actually very friendly and treats everyone with equality and respect, unless they are not deserving of such. Karena respects Arlen for what he does for the people and supports his cause, but she has her own particular ways of going about things, of which she will make her valued opinion known. Shade"What's yours is mine... What I do with it? None of your concern..."
Shade watched the helpless expression of this criminal thug as she took his gold and all the information he had. This led the enigma to the end of the mission; a drug den notorious for housing criminal gangs. Not too difficult to crack, Shade thought to herself. The spark of fire ignited and the place was in chaos... So slow to start, but grew with the rising dread of the occupants. In the dismay, their valuables were taken and for once in their lives, the criminals were vulnerable. Nobody else would know the glee on Shade's face, but none could read its face either. Loot and gold in a nondescript bag, the entity drifted through the alleys making very little sound and moved about undisturbed. Undisturbed, save for the scrambling of a few thugs that escaped the fire and didn't take a liking to the hooded figure.
They didn't last long and the last memory planted into their brains before a fiery steel, was the visage of a fiery cloaked figure; left eye burning bright with indiscriminate contempt, hand burning with rage... But most of all, that face would haunt them, even beyond their wretched passing.
Continuing on, Shade spotted a gathering of terrified orphans, huddled together after witnessing what happened. The aura softened to that of a warm glow and surprisingly enough, so too did Shade's features. The entity looked at them and smiled faintly, approaching them before kneeling down to get a look at their faces. Shade's conscience came into effect and the figure removed gold from a hidden pocket and shared it with the children. Shade's voice carried a soft, feminine tone and they warmed up to her. Holding out a hand, Shade took the urchins to a safe place, leaving them outside the temple doorstep before disappearing into the night once more. Info: Unidentifiable currently Shade is an entity that is spoken of as rumors; ones that scare criminal gangs in Rook, and embellished stories of heroism that inspires the children of the city. Only ever seems to be spotted at night and Shade's targets are exclusively criminals, thugs, demonic and devilish cults as well as necromancers who specifically summon the dead. The enigmatic hooded figure often steals valuables, gold and other supplies from those that it targets and in turn donates them to the innocent poor, or noteworthy organisations with just ideals. Rumors have circulated that Shade has an affinity for and uses fire; that several reports of theft and arson have been affiliated with this Shade entity. There is a distinct duality that makes Shade both a sign of safety and danger, of which Shade is seen as a liability by the Rook Guard. One of the scariest things to note, is that Shade takes delight in those that she kills. [/span] Arlen has recently encountered Shade on several occasions, normally in the company of scraggly urchins and homeless people. To this day, they have a tenuous agreement to work with each other: Arlen overlooks most of the rumors for the sake of the good work Shade performs. The entity has taken an interest in Arlen's deeds as a result of their partnership. [/div]

(A letter written in the finest ink, contained within an envelop sealed with wax, with red-ribbon trim. It sits on Arlen's desk neat and not out of place, given great care; no dirt, scuffs or marks and well-preserved.)Dear Father,It may or may not seem strange to hear from me, but the question of your identity has remained a forlorn mystery to me. I wanted to write a letter to you in the hopes that one day, I might be able to find you and for you to read this. I hope to catch you up on events and details you may have missed. It is regrettable to not have you here as part of my life and for whatever your reason you left mother, is a reason I may never know. Growing up in Lin'Rah and taking care of me must have been hard on mother, but we managed to scrape by. I worked hard and became a blacksmith's apprentice, learning all the tools of the trade that I could from a dwarf named Rusty. You would say that a tall and strong young man would be an ideal romantic interest, but funnily enough I never courted. Maybe it's the red hair, or maybe I was just an idiot. I took up swordplay when I got older and it has certainly been beneficial even to this day. Sadly, mother passed away in the year of 192ARW, stricken with incurable illness and bedridden 3 years prior to that. It was a cold evening but I had made sure to keep her warm and take care of her. Even on her deathbed, all she would tell me of you was that you were a great man and not to hate you. She gave no name or anything else besides that. I mourn for her still in the back of my mind, but she taught me valuable life lessons and she has inspired me to become a better person. My dreams had become more vivid since the passing of Alexus. In my dreams I found solace, and she found me; a beautiful figure garbed in red, she comforted me when I was at my lowest point. In these dreams I had revelations, something awoke and you could say that I had found my faith. The Gods and Goddesses of this realm work in enigmatic and mysterious ways, but I was given a spark of divinity. This spark reignited my passions and I had left Lin'Rah to head to Rook; to find my fame and fortune, to help those who needed it and perhaps attain Knighthood like many others who had childish dreams. At the time of writing this letter, I am 31 years old, an adult in the prime of my life. During the years between first arriving to Rook and present day, I'd like to say I have accomplished much. I founded a temple to Lyphion, the mistress of my dreams and it works to offer charity, comfort and protection to all those that need it. With companions and friends that I made, we've slew a great many dangers; monstrous beasts, demons, unnatural abominations. I have travelled to a great many places: elysium, hell, the astral planes, dark underground caverns, lush forests, an underwater city and I've even been inside the realm of another person's dreams. I've been an instructor for the Order of the Climbing Ivy for a few years now and they work to train holy warriors and those seeking knighthood. The greatest companion I ever had the honour and privilege of meeting, was Dawnfeather. She is a Griffin like the fables of old, beautiful, intelligent and strong. Since I ventured to Rook and met her during one of my prayers, she has always been by my side through the high points of my life and the low. Loyal and affectionate, I couldn't ask for any greater a friend. Together, we accomplished great things for the good of many. There have been many friends and enemies I have made on this journey, good and bad things that I have done all to preserve the things I hold dear. Regret, indecisiveness, doubt, longing, they still plague my mind despite my good intentions. This hasn't been a perfect journey, for I have failed to save the innocent on several occasions and it haunts me so, that they drift into the afterlife while I selfishly cling here to this world. I light candles for those that have passed, even the wicked that I have slain, all in the hopes that they can find peace wherever they go; no more torment and to find something better. The enemies I face are great, much greater in power than myself and all have designs for me. I fight them still, as I must and whether my downfall comes to me soon or far into my years of old age, I won't be giving up on those who look to me for support. Much of the evil I have faced I do not hate; the men and women who turn to evil ways, they have been through incredible amounts of pain and suffering, of which I could not even begin to compare to. One figure in particular eludes me, plots my downfall, and has been doing so for many years now. I will not name her, but needless to say she is a woman of incredible power and beauty. Her beauty is that of a rose, albeit twisted and thorny because of her wicked deeds and the lives she has claimed for her own desire. Many people's lives have been claimed for her designs and sadly, she is one of those I have failed to stop. Behind that cold veneer i've learned of a woman that befell great tragedy with the loss of her family, among other pains and tortures I cannot even begin to sympathise with. To learn that some who commit great evils, because of things so precious to them that they have lost... It's truly saddening. It is a conflict of emotions, between ending her life and trying to save it. Should I be successful in convincing her to change ways and help her see the good she can do, I would believe that to be a greater mercy, even if it's a much harder goal to achieve. I have done many things to feel proud about and many things that I will regret for the rest of my life, but none of us are perfect, right? Often the right choices are the hardest to make, so perhaps I am simply naive or not wizened enough to see the bigger picture. I have much more to learn and many more goals left to achieve on my journey. One day I'll hope to achieve Knighthood. One day I'll hope to end the fighting and settle down with a family of my own... Perhaps have two daughters, who will drive me crazy with worry, and a wife with stronger willpower and patience to put up with a fool like myself. One day I'll hope to leave this world for good in a better place than when I arrived here. For whatever reason you decided to leave, I forgive you. Even though you were not around to take care of my mother, n'or see me grow up into the man I am today, I thank you for bringing me into this world. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you well, wherever you may be. If you lived a life of well-being and good nature, I am proud of you. Should you have lived a life of sin or misdeeds, I hope that you find or have found a way to forgive yourself and see your better nature. Again, I thank you for the chance at life that you and mother gave to me and I hope that happiness follows you.Sincerely,Your son,Arlen Senshi Seiichi

I’ve been following you for a while now; where you go, what you do, who you talk to. Those building blocks are burning down, crumbling, flaking… And they’re falling apart. You have no hold here, no iron grip anywhere in this city and you have me to thank for that. I take pleasure in seeing you and people like you hurt, in despair, but most of all in panic. That’s one less drug den down; the furious red glow brightening up my eyes, my smile and if I wasn’t so intent on killing you I would be laughing. The wood splinters and chars, the brick becomes rubble and dust and I stand there in the alleyway watching. It looks like a wretched hand clawing its way out of the ground, only to be denied the light of the surface. I’ll put you in the ground and soon, you will see the sun…
… Nevermore.
I do not feel guilt for what I’ve done. I happily paint my clothes the blood of your friends. It excites me like no thrill could. Each stroke and I can feel myself getting closer. Each strike of the match, each iota of anger and pleasure I take, then it makes this more intense. I will walk through the burning wreckages of your businesses and force my way through every obstacle you try to hide behind. Your friends… Your family… They don’t matter to me. I look down into the helpless, childlike eyes of yet another bastard that chose poorly in life and I watch as I force my boot into the gash in his throat. The blood bursts out, just as if he popped. I said your friends and family don’t matter to me, so they will move aside or burn to cinder.
I’m coming.
