Felix threw his glaive. the blood-stained, chipped blade biting into the mossy earth. His armored boot launched a stone into the nearby flowing river as he shrugged the heavy pack from his shoulders and he slumped against a familiar tree. He buried his face into his hands and wept. The images of the tavern carnage flashed in his mind. He had known something was not right. Yet he turned a blind eye for the sake of what? A profit? What if he had been in Oriar? What if it had been his Mother's tavern?...Felix lowered his hands and they trembled. He was scared. Not of the bandits or their terror but, what he had done. Ended lives. Lessened the worlds beauty. Doubted. How could those monsters be redeemed? His gaze lifted and the sadness in his face faded. Across the clearing peering out of the bramble and brush of the woods. A single rose bloomed. No. They were just that, monsters. He gave them every chance to surrender. He must not lose sight. Everyone is redeemable, even he.Felix stood and slowly moved across the clearing. His fingers gripped the handle of his glaive and it slipped effortlessly from the ground. He knelt before the rose and carefully cut the flower from the plant. He held it with care in his large hand and nodded. He carefully attached the rose to his lapel, the vibrant crimson contrasted against the dark olive of his traveling cloak. The gentle giant, once again, slipped against the comfortable tree. He wiped the tears from his face and his heavy eyes closed. He focused on the sound of the river flowing, the rustling of the leaves as they danced in the wind, and his own heart that beat rhythmically in his ear. His lips parted and he sang softly, a little off tune. Behold the power Of my beast inside I can't hold it back much longer A boiling anger Beneath the surface That keeps growing stronger
I'm trying to keep myself from Showing my dark deep inside
I believe in the healing rain Pouring down on me I believe in the quiet mind Making me try one more time Trying to be a man of peace ("Man of Peace" by Last Tribe)

As he sings my guy walks by and stops to listen. He says to the large man "you, Sing good. You make song for me maybe?" he then poceeds to sit in the shallow water at the edge of the river facing Felix hoping for a song.

Felix's eyes opened, looking a little startled. His camp was a little off the usual paths near the city but the river was reason enough for travelers. The Gentle Giant raised a curious brow as the man moved to the river and crouched in the water rather than the dry mossy bank. A smile grew and Felix nodded to the strange traveler. "Good Morrow, Traveler. I appreciate your compliment. I am no bard but, I will try my best for anyone willing to appreciate a song, even sung by an amateur." Felix's eyes looked upwards and he stroked his long blond beard in contemplation. His fingers trailed over the dew covered rose on his lapel and he paused before chuckling quietly. "...ah I think I have the right song for you, my friend." I set my goals higher everyday I make my own rules that I will obey As long as I live
This is the life I was born to lead A unique chance for me to express myself And fulfill my dreams
I'm in control of this ship of mine And everything will be just fine
Like the wind I'm free to go anywhere I got my song, it dances in the air Now I know what to do with my life So you will hear my freedom call
All those bad things I once went through Changed into blessings when I changed the point of view I needed them to grow
I've changed so much, I'm finally free To do what I want without feeling of guilt or fear It's so amazing
I'm in control of this ship of mine And everything will be just fine
Like the wind I'm free to go anywhere I got my song, it dances in the air Now I know what to do with my life So you will hear my freedom call
Like the wind I'm free to go anywhere I got my song, it dances in the air Now I know what to do with my life So you will hear my freedom call ("Freedom" by Stratovarius) As Felix's song grew to a close he chuckled once more and bowed his head to the stranger. "Thank you for indulging me stranger. I hope it was to your liking."

A Few Days Later...Felix gave a hearty laugh as he slapped David, one his hired workers, on the back. The cabin was simple, yet sturdy. Smoke billowed out of the chimney, a quaint porch overlooking the large nearby river. Felix shook the rest of the laborers hands, thanking them for their work and inviting them inside for a meal and some ale. The men chuckled and they all entered, filling the home with the warm and inviting sound of laughter.

https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/113353701 Felix was lost in darkness.
His chest burned with pain. His mind wandered and was emptied.
A spark of light awoke him and the pain returned once more.
Felix cried out in pain as he was lifted upwards, his arms pulled in separate direction the power threatening to rip him in half.
The light grew brighter causing Felix to squint towards it.
"You wander, Giant. Without aim. Without Purpose." A soft melodic voice spoke. It filled Felix with warmth and the pain subsided for a moment.
"Shelyn... I am unworthy..." Felix's voice a whisper, cold ichor slipped from is lifeless lips.
"A Shadow falls on Rook. The city will fall to Darkness. Something must be done." The sound of her voice caused his dead heart to beat once, sending fire through his veins. Felix grit his teeth as agony washed over him.
"Ask Shelyn... and it shall be done..." The Giant of Oriar whimpered feeling like a lost child in this blinding light.
"Reclaim your lost title and wear it with pride for a Tyrant will destroy Rook but a Gentle man may save it. Gather heroes and reclaim the city from the Blight that threatens to consume it. Restore the Beauty to Rook, Gentle Giant of Oriar." The voice began to trail to a whisper as it spoke. Felix's hands began to tingle, warmth slowly radiating from his chest. The light began to dim. The giant reached for the light.
Felix awoke on a cold slab, Soran and Milo stood over him. Felix attempted to sit up quickly but Soran placed a firm hand on the Giant's shoulder easing him back to the slab. Felix's eyelids fluttered as exhaustion washed over him and he stared deeply into the ceiling before him.
"I will not fail you..." Felix whispered quietly, causing Soran and Milo to exchange a glance.
David glanced to the giant in armor beside him. Felix was different from the laughing man he had met a few weeks prior. His half hidden eyes serious as they stared at the small cabin before them. "You have the plans. Begin the work as quickly as possible." Felix's voice a flat tone, void of emotion. The builder nodded rolling the plans tightly and slipping them into a case. David nodded to a group of laborers and they began to carefully destroy part of Felix' house, tearing at the wrapping porch. Felix turned to face the large river and his eyes wandered to the sprawling city to the West. The words of the goddess still rang in his ears. The signs had been there: the Undying Lords, the Murderous Bandits, the Summoning of a Dark God. The city was sick and no one cared. Even he was guilty; Pushing the misguided onto a system that cared little for it's people and even less for it's criminals. He turned to look at the small cabin being partially destroyed to be converted into something better, stronger, beautiful.

A large building now sits where the small riverside cabin used to. It's interior a mix of wooden and cobble stone. Decorated with various furs, rugs, and spare equipment. Felix smiled as he inspected the work. Yes. It would do well and plenty of room to expand. He moved to the untouched fireplace and carefully placed the large log he had been holding. He shifted some kindling underneath the log and withdrew his flint and steel; a small fire crackled to life. Felix brushed his hands against itself to clean them as he stood up. "Excuse me, sir. You summoned me?" A young thin man, his clothes a tad small on his gangly figure. Felix smiled and waved the young man close. "Yes, Steven. Come in. Come in." Felix paused as he patted his chest and then pockets. He held up a hand. "Excuse me a moment." The giant disappeared into an office, it's door propped open to the common room. After a few moments he returned with enveloped letters, sealed in crimson wax. He handed them to the thin man. "Please deliver these with haste Steven. Do it quickly and I'll tip you well." Felix chuckled and his friendly pat on the man's shoulder almost caused the thin man to topple over. "Of-Of course Master Hadfield. Right away, Master Hadfield." He stammered, taking sealed letters in hand and placing them delicately in his satchel. Felix sighed and shook his head. "None of that, Steven. It's just Felix." The gentle giant smiled and removed his hand from Steven's shoulder. Steven stammered before nodding and taking his leave. Felix's smile faded as he glanced about the now empty hall. He would be lying if he claimed to have any doubts but, an action-less man he was not. Felix's metal boots clacked noisily as moved to tend to the fire. They would be arriving soon and he still had much to do.

As Soran looks at the large building near the riverside he can't help but feel impressed. Whoever designed it had certainly done a good job, though it did look a little out of place out here in the middle of nowhere. Walking up to the door, Soran gave it two hard knocks.
When Felix answered, Soran greeted him warmly. "Hello Felix, it is good to see you my friend. I wanted to talk to you about the letter you sent me. Many of the things you mentioned have reflected many of my own thoughts. Every day there seems to be more and more problems appearing in and around Rook and every day it seems the Rook guard are getting more and more incompetent. I agree that if nothing is done then Rook and possibly the whole are will be swallowed up by those only seeking to harm others. It would be my pleasure to join you in creating this guild and giving the people of Rook some hope."

Felix smiled after opening his door. He extended his hand towards Soran, clasping the man's wrist firmly in a friendly shake. His smile faded for a moment as he lead Soran inside and listened to his companion's words.
"Yes but, hopefully something can be done about it." Felix murmured gesturing towards the fireplace in the large Common room. Sofas, chairs and furs were cast about compellingly. "Please have a seat, the others should be arriving soon. Would you like something to eat, I haven't had the chance to try out my new kitchen. Used to cooking in the woods."
