Heya Folks,
It's been a while since our last update and there's quite a bit to go over. We've had race unlocks, our first finished event, some really cool lore being done, and a huge public commentary on some proposed rules changes. So let's get straight to it.
Events and Unlocks
A hidden city called Cloud City has made contact with Rook and thanks to the efforts of many of Rooks adventurers has begun forming an alliance. With this alliance comes a slow opening path between the two cities as well as an influx of new races into each. As a result, three new races have been unlocked for play. Aasimars, Sylphs, and Tieflings are all now available. Make sure you take a look at the races on the wiki before making characters as in some cases there have been alterations. With the introduction of Aasimars and Tieflings, and their higher level of power, we're also introducing the concept of premium races. No, there is no money involved...
Premium races are races of which you may only have one, regardless of subrace or alternate heritage. Now that this is a thing, Drow have been reverted to their published rules and have been included in the premium race category. The wiki will always show which races are premium.
Lore
Since the last announcement I've not had much time to spend on lore. However, we've had two new additions to the lore team, each of who have already started working in the background. Masoth has already completed quite a bit of nation building and I have to say the quality is excellent. I'll be adding his stuff to the wiki in the coming week or so. Toth is our most recent addition and he's just started on a Pantheon project that is pretty ambitious. He's working on a region based group of Pantheons that should add a lot of local flavor for GMs to draw from. This won't change player's ability to worship anything they want to believe it, but it should make our world a much richer place.
Rules
So there has been quite a bit of rules discussion in the last month. We've been working furiously to take your comments, work through them, and finalize this large batch of house rules. Well we're done for now, and here's what is being changed, effective immediately.
Multiple Attacks
* The only exceptions to this are Two-Weapon Fighting (Combat) and Improved Two-Weapon Fighting (Combat).
Crafting
Minions
* The Spinosaurus already gets a large bump at level 7 so this is just a straight nerf to its published stat block.
Archetypes
Cross-Blooded
Primal Hunter
Zen Archers
Feats & Traits
Spells
Items
Conditions
Retraining
All of this is currently reflected on the wiki. We will of course keep a close eye on these changes to see how they play out and will make adjustments as necessary.
Third Party Material
Part of our recent discussion has been about third party material. Its seems a near certainty that we will be adding Path of War material into DG at some point. Exactly when, or how, remains to be seen. Psionics seem a bit more controversial so we'll be taking a closer look at that before making an decisions.
That's about it for now. Hope you all enjoy the coming games.

Rules
So there has been quite a bit of rules discussion in the last month. We've been working furiously to take your comments, work through them, and finalize this large batch of house rules. Well we're done for now, and here's what is being changed, effective immediately.
Multiple Attacks
- Hard cap on the number of attacks allowed by tier.
- 1-5, no more than two attacks from all combined sources*
- 6-10, no more than three attacks from all combined sources*
- 11+, no limit on attacks
* The only exceptions to this are Two-Weapon Fighting (Combat) and Improved Two-Weapon Fighting (Combat).
Crafting
- Crafting costs increased to 70% of base costs.
- Minimum sell price increased to 80% of base cost.
Minions
- Defined as summons, Eidolons, Animal Companions, Animated Dead, Animated Objects, Constructs, and any other creature, being, entity, or object that acts independently and therefore breaks action economy.
- Familiars are not counted as minions for the sake of this ruling.
- No character may have more than one minion active at any time.
- Pounce is a two point evolution
- Animal companions all receive a size increase to large at level 7 if they don't currently get it. In most cases this includes the stat changes of +8 str, -2 dex, and +4 con but their are exceptions
- For Bear, Badger, Crocodile, Panda, Spinosaurus*, the level 7 increase to large changes stats by +4 str, -2 dex, +2 con.
- Deinonychus breaks the established pattern of medium bump at leve 4 and large bump at level 7 and so requires a bit more tweaking. The Deinonychus will get its medium bump at 4 instead of the normal level 7. However, it will not receive the pounce ability until L7. It will also get a large bump at L7, but at the modified stat increase of +4 str, -2 dex, +2 con.
- As per the normal rules, a player may choose to forgo this bonus size increase and instead receive a straight +2 str and +2 con.
- There will likely be corner cases we missed. These will be handled as they arise.
* The Spinosaurus already gets a large bump at level 7 so this is just a straight nerf to its published stat block.
Archetypes
Cross-Blooded
- Bonus damage per die from different bloodlines do not stack. For example, a Dragon/Orc bloodline blaster would get 1 dmg per die instead of 2.
Primal Hunter
- Banned
Zen Archers
- May not spend a ki point to add an extra flurry attack until L11.
Feats & Traits
- Dazing Spell is banned
- All magic item crafting feats are adjusted to create items at 70% of base cost. Minimum sell price is increased to 80% base cost
- Divine Protection is banned
- Spirit’s Gift is banned
- Meta magic reducing traits only affect level one spells
Spells
- No character may give any other character access to spells or recipes
- No items created by a spell, may be sold to NPCs at all.
Items
- Weapon Balms: When applied to ammo, only 4 pieces of ammunition are affected instead of the listed 10
- Lyre of Building - Does not alter costs to build in any way. It only alters time to build.
- Staff of the Master is banned
- No items created by a spell, may be sold to NPCs at all.
Conditions
- Daze is considered a mind affecting condition
Retraining
- In addition to the published retrains, you may retrain favored class bonuses according to the following cost in days: Three days plus one day per level of favored class you will be retraining. For example, if you are 6th level and wish to retrain two of your levels worth of favored class bonus, it would take you five days of retraining.
- You may also retrain your favored class into a different class at the cost of three days plus one day for each level you have applied a bonus to your previous favored class.
All of this is currently reflected on the wiki. We will of course keep a close eye on these changes to see how they play out and will make adjustments as necessary.
