Having gotten his feet on the ground and having a little better feel for the city he set out to start looking for just the right place to start setting up. After a couple of days of looking around he finally found the perfect building in the Southern Slums, most of the interior already gutted by the previous tenants or the locals and set to filling out to the paperwork and exchanging hard earned currency and started sourcing the labor and gear he'd need for it.
It was the first step on the path to mastery of his family dueling style, he'd learned all he could as a student it was time to start learning from students.
(1/1/15-1/4/15)
While waiting for the equipment he needs and the carpenters to finish their work Marcus will begin taking up jobs around the city, instructing those that are interested in learning his style of swordsmanship.
(1/5/15- 1/9/15)
With his school finally completed Marcus as opened its doors to the locals, teaching everything from basic weapons handling to advanced bladework and hand to hand combat. This is often paired with tactical doctrine learned from his time as an Imperial Soldier and tips gleaned from his adventuring career.
(1/10/15-1/11/2015)
The training was taking well with the denizens of Rook but it wasn't without it's risks. There had already been several minor injuries arising naturally in the course of learning proper technique that Marcus had needed to deal with, making use of the medical training he'd received both as an Imperial Soldier and from his own stint as a student. It wasn't long before his students started asking for assistance with the minor maladies of everyday life which started to stretch the meager supplies that Marcus normally kept on hand, but he was happy enough to help where he could. However, demand was finally starting to build to the point where it'd be hard for him to see to it all so he decided to start working on furnishing a true infirmary, and perhaps start thinking of training some of his students to handle the day to day needs of the neighborhood so he could go back to focusing on his true calling. ((Begining construction of an Infirmary. Will be completed 1/14/15))
(1/12/2015-1/18/2015)
Things were going well for Marcus. His school was flourishing and with the assistance of his side income helping the people of Rook he was able to afford the next stage of his expansion plans. Plans were made to purchase the property around his school and then out he went, bringing in some able bodied folk in need of work to begin the process of clearing the land, and working as laborers under the carpenters he hired. Soon he would have a proper training yard and bunk room for students paired with an exhibition yard where his students could show off their skills. It was coming along nicely. ((Purchased Bunks and Courtyard, both will be completed in 6 Days (1/18/2015). Purchased Battle Ring, will be completed in 10 days (1/22/2015)
(1/19/2015 - 2/26/2015)
Progress was coming faster than could be expected, but just as things were shaping up the way Marcus had planned the plague broke out. Seeing some of his students and the people in the neighborhood start to fall ill, Marcus decided to switch gears from the combat training to medical training, picking out a team of his quickest learners to focus on while directing the rest of his able bodied students while opening his doors to the neighborhood. Over night the academy transformed into a plague ward, the bunkhouse cleared to make room for the ill while more where allowed to move into the courtyard where Marcus and his students could put everything he'd learned in the imperial army to the test. ((Purchased Acolyte team, will be completed on 1/19/2015. Switching to heal checks to gain influence and halting profession advancement while the plague is in swing.))
(2/26/2015 - September 2015)
With the war now striking closer to home and all the weirdness coming out of the rediscovery of Cloud City, Marcus has stepped up his plans. With his students now reaching levels of proficiency in which it would be hard to learn more just in the school, Marcus has taken to finding them jobs about the city working as guards for businesses or personal protection. He keeps a keen eye to who hires the students that have stayed with him to make sure they do not get up to any nefarious business in the name of the academy.
(September 2015 - Present)
Life in Rook was quite a bit crazier than what Marcus was used to in the Empire but some how he, and the academy had managed to pull through. As the school had grown and produced more and more trained fighting men, Marcus had found himself taking those that didn't have other plans into his service, leaving him with an ever growing military force. Luckily the guard was too overwhelmed dealing with the slums so he'd managed to make arrangements to augment their work. Now it wasn't an uncommon sight to see squads of armed men in the blue and silver tabards of House Aur and the academy itself was growing into a fixture of the community around it. The slums were bad, without a doubt, but those that lived in the shadow of the ever growing academy could live in peace and security, the general chaos of the slums succumbing to the type of order only disciplined and armed men could provide. Those that were a danger to the growing community were encouraged to leave, taking their disruptive influence elsewhere in the city. A time would come when they would have to be dealt with but for now removing them from the immediate equation worked well. His men were gaining some small bit of notoriety as he'd been forced to deploy them twice now to protect the city from outside threats so things were looking good even as Marcus set his eye on the next wave of expansion.

Herace looks up at the sign to see if he has the right place and then down to the flyer he found in the arms district. "this place" he says to no one in particular. He then opens the main door and after finding the nearest staff member says "i here place good fight. me interested."

Strolling through Rook having only arrived at the city in the dark of last night comes across the Falcon's Crest Academy. He almost passes it by, not needing to learn how to fight but he smells the familiar aroma of a blacksmiths forge and notices the peculiar absence of the sound of metal being beaten into shape. Curious he steps inside looking to find the nearest employee and inquire if an armourer or swordsmith was needed.
"Sounds as though you're in need of a smith. Your forge is awfully quiet."

"Yes, this is a place where you can learn to fight, but we do teach more than that." Marcus eyed the man critically for a moment and then nodded. The fellow spoke oddly enough but looked like he might be fit for training. "We teach discipline and leadership here as well. If all you're looking for is a brawl the Plow would be a better place to spend your time, but if you're looking to learn the finer arts of warfare you're in the right place."

He turned away from the field to give the man a better once over. "If you've got the skills you're welcome to give it a try, if you prove useful you can have a place here at the Academy as our smith."

Faelyn after getting lost a few times finally finds the place he has been looking for. He opens the door steps in and looks to see if he can find Marcus. Not seeing him immediately he calls out "Marcus are you here?" Marcus was in armory at the back watching one of the senior students walk the new enrollment through the proper way to select, don, and move in the armor they'd be training it. It still got to him every time he watched the new recruits stumble around with the unaccustomed weight and he was still barely containing a chuckle when he heard his name being called from the front. As he strode out across the courtyard he finally let himself laugh a bit and offered Faelyn a small wave. "Faelyn! Good to see you, hope you haven't gotten yourself into another predicament."

"No no, things are fine on that front. I have actually been meaning to come by here for months now ever since I found out about it. I almost started my own space for teaching dueling when I first arrived in Rook but I never found the time. Plus I think you do excellent work here in the slums for people, would you happen to have need of any teachers. As I'm sure you know I am quite capable with mixing the arts of the blade with those of magic alongside defending oneself when armor is not available and would love to pass on the things I have learned experimenting with the two."

'tas been a long time since I stood before the anvil, let me get used to this one's fires." He shrugged off his furs tossing them over a nearby bench, looking over the tools "My name is Gunjar. To whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?"

"It's a mostly thankless job, but it'll put some coin in your pocket and it always feels good to be able see your students go out and make something of themselves." He nodded towards the sounds of voices coming from the Armory. "There's a group of students back there now getting familiar with the equipment. Why don't you come join us with the days drills and we can set up a series of classes you can lead."

Get familiar with the equipment for now, we'll see where you stand once you have your feet under you and go from there. This is mostly a teaching establishment, if you're open to learn we're willing to give you the time to do so." He folded his hands behind his back and followed the man to the smithy. "You're free to use the tools you see here, you'll have to pay for your own materials, and in exchange I'd like you to give priority to jobs the school requests of you. I'm planning making the same offer to other craftsmen so you'll have the same right of request of those fellows as they have upon you. Does that seem fair?"

Responds only with a grunt and a nod, selecting a scrap piece of billet and thrusting it into the forge examining just how this fire heated, where its hotspots and coldspots "Could do with an apprentice to work the bellows. Can manage myself but work will be slower... also less fulfilling." He smiles lightly turning back to his work.

Dryth walks into the room and states "I hear that you are looking for crafters to join your guild. I would like to offer my services and become a part of your guild. If I meet your expectations and requirements that is. Please let me know at your earliest convenience."

Matthias, wandering the streets of Rook to acclimate himself to his new home, stops suddenly. He is captivated by the sounds of ringing steel coming from inside a nearby building. He runs his fingers across the leather-bound hilt of his rapier, and with a small smile, makes his way inside.
Looking around, he realizes he has found exactly what he was looking for, a martial education establishment. And what's more, there were swordsmen practicing in the salle this very moment! He knows he must speak to the owner of this place as soon as he.... Oh that was a very good riposte, and there! What a parry!
Forgetting himself, and his purpose, Matthias pulls his journal from his bag and begins taking notes and sketching various forms as the combatants continue their training.

Marcus had spotted the fellow watching the students at their drills and had approached while he was taking notes. He'd made sure to give the fellow a little space in case he was jumpy and a had a slightly amused smile. "I'm Marcus, I run this academy. If you're interested we're always taking on new students."

Airdan made his way towards the Military Academy he had heard was responsible for helping out the slums during the outbreak of juju zombies. Airdan had heard how the Academy had helped exterminate many of the zombies that appeared that day and kept the whole thing contained. It was quite a accomplishment and showed the Academy cared about the well being of others. That was something Airdan could support whole heartily.
Airdan eventually found someone that looked like they were in charge and asked who he would need to speak to in order to apply for a position here. He could hardly be called a warrior but he believed cunning and subterfuge had their place in adventuring just as much as swinging a sword did.
Still it would be up to those in charge if he might have a place here.
