My monthly group plays it using alpha strike rules for a bit quicker combat. It's been fun so far as I am the Hauptmann of a company in the 26th Lyran Guard. Currently the three other players consist of the Company XO who is a Skye freedom fighter, the Company NCO as a grizzled veteran transferred in for a free mech, and a technician that has basically improved all of our mech's conditions to museum quality. The setting is around 3041 shortly after the AFFC was initially formed.
