Who you're talking to:
Known here as Tyrant. I'm 26 years old and have played DnD in it's various editions for over 10 years now. Pathfinder was introduced to me more than a year ago and I have enjoyed the changes to the system. When I'm not playing DnD, I'm playing video games and recreational sports like hockey and soccer. I work as a Deskside Coordinator, assisting in leading a team of technicians on the east coast and in Latin America to support the international billion dollar company that is our client. I will also be graduating with my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems in April of 2015!
Why I am applying:
As a member of this community, I would love to see it continue to grow and be a part of that growth. I DMed in my group of friends years ago and have since enjoyed playing as a player in my Pathfinder years. I recently DMed an unofficial level 1 session for 5 players here at DG. I provided the session writeup to Gryphyx in the DG format. I wanted to be sure I was comfortable with the Roll20 interface and the players expressed very positive feedback and reinforced the notion that I should apply. It would also be a privilege to be able to assist in world building through DMing.
Weaknesses:
Building Encounters - As I haven't DMed in some time, I am a little rusty in this department.
Time measuring - I have not ran many sessions of Pathfinder so I am getting used to the time a sesion, scene, or encounter should take.
Mastery in using Roll20 - A new platform for me on the DM side. My mock session gave me a lot of confidence and this will certainly not be a weakness for long.
Strengths:
My description of the settings and characters in them as well as my attention to story detail - Just like when reading a book, details bring the game to life. Little things go a long way. Plot devices and characters leave footprints. I always try to make sure to reflect this through the details.
My ability to improv action descriptions - As a player I loved when the DM described what my character actually did versus just doing 5 damage.
My ability to make changes to the story and game board on the fly
based on player choices - I try to be as flexible as possible to allow the players the freedom they deserve in a game like this. One of the huge advantages we have in playing Pathfinder is that we can drastically change the scene in reaction to player actions.
Goals as a GM:
The easiest improvement I can make is building encounters, this will come with actually putting them together.
Continue to improve my skills in using Roll20
Continue to improve my overall knowledge of Pathfinder.
Provide quality content in the world-building department.
I am looking forward to running games for DG and should you have any further questions for me, I am usually on IRC and can also be reached via PM.
