Alicia spends most of her days volunteering at shelters and orphanages by baking delicious bread and playing with the children. At night she can be seen perusing jobs at the Golden Plow, or simply sitting by herself in a more quiet tavern, staring wistfully into a mug of hot tea.
Never one to turn a blind eye to those in need, she will gladly offer her help to anyone who needs it.
12/9/2014 Update: Alicia spends half of her days off holed up in her room tinkering with a project she recently became interested in the last 2 weeks, only emerging to gather information from local libraries or to try and find experts to consult in regards to her research.
Note: Alicia does receive reduced payment from her charity work since she pays a portion back in donations. Her downtime breakdown is cycle between 1st Day: Earn 15gp, 2nd Day: Earn 1 Influence. In the future, she'll spend her Influence on research Engineering, but that's gonna wait a while.

Alicia sat down in the quiet tavern, slightly short of breath from her unsettling interaction with Nanbu, the strange foreigner in the market district peddling "wisdom" for a price.
She took a deep breath as the waitress came by to ask her if she would like something to drink. This tavern was nothing like the Golden Plow, which was always filled with adventurers, loud noises of conversation, mugs slamming, and sometimes even brawls breaking out. No, this place was peaceful; a safe haven from the intense world of the would-be adventurer.
Alicia sighed after taking a sip of her tea and inhaled it's aroma, calming her down and flushing her face with relaxation. She had only been in Rook a few weeks and already her life had become so much more hectic than it was back in Bruhl. Sure, there was the occasional wild beast or small goblin band that posed a threat to the town, but nothing quite on the grand scale of what she had seen within her first days adventuring out of Rook.
Nanbu's words still troubled her as she stared into her cup, but in time, she finished her tea, paid her bill, and moved out to seek more work to complete. She knew she had to keep moving forward despite her fear and uncertainty about the future.

Dunois finds Alicia at the tavern on a day after adventuring with her and spies a golden opportunity. Dunois, discouraged at his lack of performance the previous day, came to the conclusion that he needed to find a better sort of armor in order to bolster his defenses. A small chain shirt just didn't cut how much Dunois wanted to protect others. After some research and spending his time learning armor crafting, Dunois finally found out what he wanted to make. The issue was that he could not afford the plate of armor just yet.
Dunois approaches Alicia and says "Hey there missy, getting a drink here too?", too guilty to directly reveal his motives.

Alicia perks up from her cup of tea at the sound of the booming, jolly voice. She sees the imposing, albeit fancy looking Dunois standing in front of her and says.
"Oh, its Mr. Orc. Yes, despite this tavern being so focused on serving alcohol, they actually have some nice tea to drink."
The smile drops from Alicia's face and turns to a look of concern as she blinks several times.
"Oh, no, I've been so rude! I just realized completely forgot to ask you your name! I'm sorry! What IS your name, Mr. Orc? My name's Alicia! Alicia Melchiott!"

Happy to see her smiling face, Dunois realizes that he never did introduce himself.
"My name's Dunois, little lass. I'm an adventurer by trade but I'm eventually gonna make it big as a performer. Finances are a bit tough though as of late. You'll probably see me here every day trying to find some work. Usually I'm just trying to help around town though or practice making some armor. If you need armor done fast, I can help ya!"

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Dunois!"
Alicia laughs and scratches her head.
"Yeah, I know what you mean about finding work. I mostly volunteer at the shelter, but the people there still feel like they need to pay me something, so I get a little gold from them. Usually after I reject it twice. I try to find jobs here when I can. It seems like there's a lot of villages outside of Rook that have trouble with goblins and bandits and stuff, so it's nice that I can help them."
She looks slightly surprised at the mention of Dunois being an armor smith.
"Oh, you make armor like Mr. Gruengi?"
Alicia motions over to a unkempt, scary-looking dwarf drinking in the corner.
"He was kind of scary to talk to at first, but he's actually really nice. He made me a beautiful mithral shirt. I've only ever heard about this stuff in storybooks, haha. It may have cost me my entire savings since coming to Rook from my hometown, but I'd say it was worth it!"
Alicia takes a break from talking to take a sip of her tea and sighs contently.
"Well, I don't need any armor, but you're really nice and you make the children at the shelter very happy so if you ever need any help with anything, let me know! Maybe we can adventure together one of these days too."

"Ah mithral, what a coincidence. I'm currently in the process of making my own mithral breastplate. I'm not a serious armorsmith, just something I do in my free time. I do have an easier time making it than the regular person though. I would rather use my own two hands to make something if it's going to save my life, y'know? Mithral is pretty expensive though, but I can get this done I'll never have to worry about armor for a while."
Dunois tries to ease into the subject a bit but after a while he decides to get to the point.
"I noticed in our last job there, you tended to stay in the back. Makes sense since you're a crossbowman. Me on the other hand, things in the front aren't always pretty. But if we ever get in another fight, you can rely on me to keep ya safe. I do have a proposition for you though," Dunois tries to explain, "Mithral is much more expensive if you're making big armor, and after that last job I'm a bit short on finishing my suit up. If you happen to have an extra 300 gold lying around, would you mind loaning some to me? I'll return the favor the moment I can get my next job. I just don't feel safe in the front with nothing but some metal strings on my back."
Dunois offers the proposition in earnest and has been looking for a loaner for quite a while. He looks very humbly and respectful of Alicia as he asks. He fully intends to repay her when given the chance, but feels it is of utmost importance to start work on his new armor as soon as possible.

Alicia tilts her head puts a finger up to her temple.
"Huh...that makes a lot of sense actually. Back home in my militia everyone had these crossbow. I even made them myself! I don't have a good understanding of fighting on front lines. I guess I never thought about how dangerous it is...now I feel really bad and like I'm not pulling my weight when I go out on adventures with others."
Alicia actually looks really sad now and retrieves a pouch from her backpack. After counting out 300 gold pieces, she holds out the pouch to Dunois and bows her head.
"Please forgive me Mr. Dunois! I was insensitive and ignorant to the troubles of front-line adventurers like you! Here, you deserve this more than me! I hope you'll do your best pursuing your work!"
