I've been playing Pathfinder for ages, and a usual IRL session with the groups I've been with have been between 10 and 14 hours. Looking at the Character Advancement guidelines, it seems to imply most sessions last only 4 hours? So yeah, how long do you guys go?

The typical session is intended to be 3-4 hours.

Yeah typical is 3:30-4:00 hours.
Contrary to home games, where usually you just gather with friends in a house from afternoon till night (for me) you have to take into consideration that online you need to collaborate with different timezones and circumstances (kids, wife, work, etc).
So the available time windows grow smaller.
In addition, usually, in home games there are ultimately breaks (food delivery, etc) that is almost impossible to do via net.

Usually its more like 5 hours for sessions I run due to the inevitable distractions that come about from everyone knowing each other for 6 years (or maybe I just tell myself that when nobody pays attention to me...).

Kind of like Shroudb mentioned, when we meet in person our games are usually a whole day event but that's we spend most of the time chatting or screwing around and very little of it actually playing. Online games tend to be faster and tighter just because there isn't as big a range of social activities outside of the game you can engage in with each other.
