Heya Folks! We're live!
So first things first. During our two and a half month beta we had a lot of games thanks to some fantastic GMs. Thank you! We also had quite a few players for those games thanks to those of you were willing to take a chance on us and to put up with rules and systems which were changed many times. So to our beta players, thank you!
Looking forward, we've still got a long way to go. In the past two days however we've had 28 new players join us with about half of those already having submitted characters. That's awesome! This influx however has made clear a few areas of the wiki that need updating and clarification. We're working on it as fast as we can and frankly it will be a continual work in progress.
Also, thanks to WizardFrog for joining Zanos in the thankless role of approving characters. Its a critical part of our process and things would grind to a halt without them. For those still waiting for approvals or soon to submit, please be patient. Zanos, Wizard, and those of us helping them here and there are regular people with other priorities (unfortunately). We're here for the long haul so no need to rush.
I'd also like to mention that with this influx of players, we're probably going to be out of GM/Player balance until this current group gets settled, a few drop off, and those who want to GM get into it. So games might be a little less available at first than they were in beta. For those of you just joining us, or even you old timers who just weren't ready, if you want to GM and know you've got the stuff for it, put up a GM app, let me know, and we'll get you a GM app game or three. If you are interested in GMing but aren't confident in your abilities yet, let me know that too. We can work with you behind the scenes. We can coach you, set up games for you with staff and players we've identified as helpful and supportive, and only release you into the wild once you're ready and confident.
Finally, to all you new players, we're stoked you're here. Thanks for checking us out. Dragons Gate is going to be something different for each of you. Some will pop in once a month and grab a game to get your fix. Some will be in IRC daily to get super involved with community. Most will fall somewhere in between. We welcome, and value, you all. We'll come from all walks of life with differing hopes for what Dragons Gate will be. So relax, be tolerant and accepting, and let's have some friggin fun!
