Gruengi can usually be found in the plow or thereabouts if he isn't working. It seems he might live there. He drinks and mostly keeps to himself, though he seems to be unintentionally making friends (or at least something like that). At the moment, he seems perfectly content to wait around for whatever jobs come by: Be that smithing or killing. He advertises somewhat often that he is a mundane and magical smith (craft skill, craft magic arms and armor, and craft wondrous item).

After returning to Rook from dealing with the Riverview hobgoblins, Jochem seeks out an armorer. He approaches Gruengi in the plow and says "You must be the smith Gruengi. I have need of your services. Would you craft a breastpiece of studded leather for me? A masterwork if you please, I think I will have need of it."
If Gruengi agrees, Jochem will hand the over 132 gp in a small leather satchet. (75% of 175 is 131.25 gp rounding for simplicity)
"Thank you for your services master smith, I shall return once you have finished your work."

Looks up from his drink at the man; his gaze somewhat incredulous.
"I can make it, and of course it'll be masterwork. I wouldn't sully my tools with anything less."
As the gold is dropped on the table he looks it over for a bit before smiling a somewhat crooked grin.
"A pleasure. I don't think I got your name."

"Oh, of course, I am Jochem from the woods north of Rook. I would offer to drink with you, but I must seek out other craftsmen. Perhaps when I return. Good day master smith."

Alicia wanders down from her room at the Golden Plow with a smile on her face, covered in soot from her latest experimental ventures. Looking around, she spots the dwarf she had heard about from the bartender after mentioning offhandedly that her hometown's signature leather armor wasn't quite up to the task of the jobs she was facing down. She had been saving up money up til now, unsure what to spend it on, but buying something that would help keep her alive seemed like a worthy investment; even if it meant pouring all of her savings into it.
She had often heard of the beauty and uncanny strength of "mithral" armors, but it was usually just in the storybooks she read in the orphanage as a child or from boasting adventurers that seemed to accrue quite a fortune from their adventures. She pulled out her coin pouch and wondered if she would really have a enough to afford such glamorous armor.
Mustering up what courage she could, she timidly approached the rough-looking dwarf.
"E-excuse me...are you Gruengi? Sorry if I'm bothering you! M-my name's Alicia and I...well...that is...I heard I should come to you if I wanted special armor made for myself. Do you have a moment?"

Gruengi looks the woman up and down before saying, "I'm Gruengi. You want special armor made, eh? I need details."

Alicia brings her hands together and smiles brightly.
"Oh, of course! You see, I've heard about mithral chain shirts from other adventurers and, well...I was wondering how much something like that would cost."
**OOC: That would be a Mithral Chain Shirt +1, by the by.**

"I can make a shirt for you; if you want it enchanted that costs extra. That'll be 825 gold, an extra 750 if you want it enchanted. It'll take me a few days to finish."
He does not reciprocate the smile.

Alicia looks slightly scared at the dwarf's cold expression and curt response. She hands him her pouch of coins, which happened to contain exactly 1575 gold. She also removes her leather armor and says...
"If it's not too much trouble...could you take the insignia on this armor and affix it to the new piece? This armor has been with me since I came to Rook from my hometown, and my militia insignia is one of the few things I have left to remember everyone by..."
Alicia's expression turns wistful as her smile falls slightly. She perks up after a moment, though and beams.
"I'd really appreciate it!"

He takes the bag and holds it in his hand as if weighing it, he seems pleased with it (even smiling a bit) as he sets it down on his end of the table.
Seeing the insignia he nods solemnly, "I understand, it shall be part of the design. I'll have it ready in a few days. A distinct pleasure Alicia."
At that he sets to counting the gold, obviously done talking.

Alicia gives the dwarf a hearty salute after thanking him and returns to her room to continue tinkering with her project.
