Outbreak: Undead
So I am going to be running a game of Outbreak: Undead if anyone is interested. It's a game using d% where you play yourself in a zombie apocalypse. Because I want this to be immersive for the players, I will hide all rolls, and most of the mechanics. The quickstart guide will provide some information, but I will also explain certain mechanics (Such as combat and skill checks) more in depth if you join.
I would like to point out; you are playing yourself. This means any knowledge you have, any skills you actually have, and any flaws you have are the character's flaws. It's very difficult to metagame unless you 'game' the system (Which I am avoiding) or if I accidentally give you information you shouldn't have. I will have a few rules in regards to this.
Firstly, if you want to join, here are a few rules and guidelines:
1. You are yourself. Do as you would do. If you wouldn't kill someone in real life, don't do it in the game.
2. Don't use google. You will be given general names and locations of where you are, and you may also try to google up information regarding skill pursuits, but do not do so. This is about what you can do in real life without the aid of a mobile encyclopedia. I will give you screenshots of maps if you find and look at maps.
3. YOU ARE YOURSELF. I said this already, but to the last group I DM'd for in this, people got really upset when they were dieing. This attachment is appropriate, but don't let it ruin the game for you if you die. If you want to keep playing, NPC's can usually be converted into characters. At which point, the first two rules become vague, and I will step in to help.
4. Ingenuity is key. If you can come to me with designs for weapons/armor/bases, and you can feasibly do it in the game, I will let you do it. Be as creative as possible, but also account for realism.
5. Have fun. This game will be in a serious tone, but it is ultimately a game. If you want to reference a movie, or make jokes, go ahead. If you want to do something do it as long as you'd actually do it in a real life scenario as well.
6. Be honest with the DM, and yourself. Don't lie to either of us, because that makes the game harder to run. It's okay to lie to the other players, mostly cause you are only really interacting with them on an RP level.
If you agree to those rules, you can find a simple questionnaire here (huntersbooks.com/spewai/) to get your SPEW score. SPEW is the set of attributes that defines every living person. Strength, Perception, Empathy, and Willpower.
Aside from that, I also wrote a questionnaire to test for your skills. It will seem a bit intrusive, but try to answer honestly. Also, because I don't want people's personal information to be out and about for whoever looks at the forum, I have one rule for this.
DO NOT POST RESULTS OF BOTH QUESTIONNAIRES HERE. SEND THEM TO ME IN DISCORD PM.
