GM Geckilian - Miere Klerrin (CL)
Player Loot:
Joy: 2 Influence.
Jack: 2 Influence.
Char: 3 Influence.
2 Influence base, +1 for Char for defeating Jormgarl von Hausen.
Char and friends were hired by a noble to clear out one of his ancestral properties - a foreboding icebound citadel. With all previous workers sent there either disappearing or dying, Char's professionalism was put to the test. After some scouting the group entered, noted there was a lot of ice around, and icy wraiths chopped Char in half. Thanks to pre-emptive protective magic he was back in no more than 13 minutes after actually not having 'died', and Joy and Jack had already dealt with the wraiths. Exploring further they passed a ward which turned Jack to ice and shattered him, but once more magic brought him back and they continued. Seeing a throne room with a lovely ancestral statue holding a very 'cold' sword that Char didn't want to touch and correctly surmising it was the source of the issues, Char went to void it into the plane of air. As it happens the statue was in fact a sentient and remarkably scary construct, prompting Char to flee even further to the realm of Fire as his allies took a brief holiday in another plane. Scenic.
The ancestral construct followed Char, started causing trouble in the neighborhood of flame and Char managed to make a getaway by running a bit before taking a long and complicated series of portals. Reconnecting with his employer, he escorted everyone, including his allies, back to the throne room to show what had happened. The construct showed up again and Char, now spooked, utterly disintegrated it with a savage set of slashes. With the sword apparently gone and the guardian of sorts no more, Char then had to reconstitute his exployer who had been turned to icy chunky salsa upon the construct's explosive demise. Once brought round the man was happy to pay the group for their contribution thus far, but much more of the citadel was still uncleared, no doubt a job for another time.
