Background Information,
Who is your character? Why is she arriving in Rook, or if you live there, what do you do? What are your characters life goals?
Prepare for the long run cause I got super into this
Born in the comfort district of Caelodunia, Salina never truly had a hard life as a child. She was a smart girl and always knew just what to say to get her father or mother to give her what she wanted. Over the years she slowly grew more and more uncomfortable. The patrols of hellknights, Inquisitors and the general undertone of oppression in the air was horrible. Sure life wasn't bad now, but what about when she has to move out, be on her own. How will she handle this sort of place on her own. She soon had to face her fears when she came of age and needed to find work. It was easier than she had originally thought, most people fell for the same tricks and tactics her parents fell for so she wasn't without work from the start at least. The years went by and she established herself as a competent worker for a merchant who dealt with importing and exporting goods.
One day while she was doing her job taking inventory she noticed something off, one of the crates wasn't on the list. Her boss Markus Eningway just played it off as a misprint and told her not to worry. Salina knew better than to take it at face value but she kept doing her job as normal without mentioning it again. That is until it started happening more and more often. Markus always gave the same excuses, The seller misprinted, forgot or it was from a different shipment that got left behind or it was just there for temporary storage for a friend. She knew Markus wasn't this disorganized, she had worked for him over 2 years and never saw this level of unprofessional behavior from him before. It lasted about 5 months before she told herself enough was enough, she was going to get to the bottom of these strange "misplaced" packages. She knew that on the morrow a crate would appear near the end of her shift. Right after she left she through on a cloak and a little disguise to make herself blend into the background street goers.
Following the movers she found herself leaving the trade district heading for the First under-district. It made sense since that's where most people lived however it wasn't long before she was lead farther and farther from the common grounds. She soon found herself nearing the second under-district. Fear of the rumors told her legs to turn back, but she was curious and wasn't without some knife training. Continuing on she quickly found the place the men were delivering the package, it was a run down hovel at the end of a wide ally between two larger buildings. Feeling it would end bad if she stayed in the area to long and knowing the location of the delivery finally caused her to turn to head back. Unfortunately. She was lost. Totally and utterly lost. She hadn't thought they had gone that far into the 2nd under-district but as she looked around she was completely without baring.
The sky was overcast gray as it always was so knowing the direction from the sun wasn't much help and the buildings and streets were terribly laid out. She knew she had to get to higher ground to make heads or tails of where the Upper districts were and being on these streets when it started getting dark was a terrible idea. Finding a building she was sure was abandoned she climbed to the rooftop to get a better idea of where she was. Now with her new view she was shocked to see that she wasn't more than a 4 minute walk from the border, letting a sigh of relief out she made her way to the hole she climbed through to leave but stopped as she saw down an alleyway one building over. A man had a women on the ground. The screams weren't loud so she could only guess the women was being chocked. Her wits left her as she leapt from the rooftop she was on to the next one over, before sliding down the slanted roof to land right on top of the man, The next few moments were a blur but when she snapped to she realized her hands were covered in blood and the man had her knife in the back of his head.
The women cowered on the ground covering her face to hide her tears while Salina gathered herself. She just killed a man in cold blood for the first time, "He deserved it" she thought while turning him over off of the women. Her face turned white when she saw the family emblem pinned right on his collar. This was bad. The man was a part of a family in the forbidden district, probably a twisted son who got his kicks by playing in the under-districts like he was just now. The women on the ground still had her face covered while Salina thought fast, she needed to cover this up or at least remove any evidence that she was the culprit. Quickly she tore some of her cloak to make a makeshift mask before the women calmed down, she wasn't that skilled so she just covered one of her eyes and rubbed dirt all over her face to hide her features as best she could. Keeping her face turned away she helped the women up and told her to run to whoever she thought would take care of her before she herself made a quick dash for the first under-district. The sooner she could get away from all this the better.
Her new dishevelled dirty look made her fit right in with the area as she made it back to the first Under-district. She knew that she had to wash up at least a little before going any farther or she'd be pegged by the patrols attentions. Ditching the makeshift eye patch down a sewer hole and washing her face using the run off from one of the roofs when it started to rain she didn't look as poorly as she did when she arrived back here, At worst people would think she fell into a puddle or slipped and covered herself with the bathwater. It was a long trudge home while she thought of what had happened. She lived in a rather nice looking building in the First Under-district in room that one could at best call a bachelors Motel. She didn't sleep that night, or the next. The events that took place were running through her mind over and over again, what made her feel the worst, most uncomfortable, most on edge. No one came for her. She knew there were ways to find out who the killer was, The inquisitors would even occasionally kill a man in the streets just to cast Speak with dead in order to get the answers they were looking for. But he never saw her though, she didn't steal anything from him or leave anything behind to be used to track her, she washed herself with run off water half way home so her smell was probably washed off as well. She had gotten away with murder, IN CAELODNIA!.
The thrill and feeling of that day never left her mind. It wasn't long before she sought out a trainer to build better skills. Though she lived in a little motel like room she had a fairly large sum of money saved up and her work provided a little spending coin if she was thrifty. So she hired a man named Daryl to train her with weapons and physical regiments. She was pleased with the workout, Adrenalin seemed to become an addiction for Salina as she continued seeking new things to try, public performances at a local tavern, Gambling cards with men you probably wouldn't want to look at lest they think you're giving them the eye. soon Salina knew almost everyone in the local groups and rumors made their ways to her ears. Patch girl they nicknamed her. The bastard she killed was found and the women soon was tracked down for answers, The only thing they got on the killer was that it was a hunched over women wearing an eye patch and dirty rags. Patch girl was sort of silly considering the description but she was glad that no one could tie her to his death. Once again. she started thinking of that day. How she effortlessly leaped from one rooftop to another, the arch of her fall as she landed squarely on his back and how it was so easy to take his life. He was scum "He deserved it" was really the only thing she thought when it came to the question of morality.
But she was locked, unable to think of anything else. "Maybe I could do it again?" she thought. The second under-district wasn't the only place with scum in the allies. Maybe she could do it again here in the First. Just so she can get it off her shoulders. That night the rumors of Patch girl spread like wild fire. She was spotted by a boy emptying the chamber pots for the night. She had chaised down a pick pocket from rooftop and ambushed him in an ally. She tied him up and left him for the man running after him to deal with the situation. With some effort she made her way back to the rooftops and ran off into the night.
Markus, poor poor Markus. It was only a matter of time before those crates got him into trouble with the inquisitors. Saline knew better than to make herself look even slightly a part of it. She had kept a log of every crate that was out of place and since she took to her new late night hobby she even knew where some of the drop off points were at. She left an anonymous tip for the inquisitors to find in Markus's binder and left. She knew that it wouldn't be long before people found out it was her who wrote it and with how the hellknights and inquisitors did their work she knew they'd probably just kill her to get the rest of the information out of her. So she left.
It wasn't as hard to leave Caelodunia unseen as most would think. Markus was doing dealings with the syndicate for years before anyone noticed, and Saline knew where some of their pick up points were thanks to him. Markus was rather clean with his "dealings" even the package she followed that first day was perfectly legal business transaction. The address was to an orphanage in the second under-district labeled as rags and cloths. However Salina knew for a while that it was more than it was showing. Using one of the pickup points and a contact she had run into more than once on her night rounds she used her persona of Patch girl to get Salina onto a deport mission. Claiming she saved her from one of the higher families twisted sons and that she needed to be taken far from Caelodunia. It worked better than she had planned. She had been building such a reputation amongst the whispering masses that the syndicate group she went to didn't even bat an eye at her request.
Current:
Salina was on, well, in, a wagon leaving Caelodunia first thing the next morning. She was stowed in a hidden compartment for a full day before the latch was opened and she was far, far from the city. She soon rebuilt herself as Salina De Navia, a nobles daughter turned traveling merchant. She made her way down from the northeast going from town to town trading goods to pay for the horses and her own food. Of course her late night habit wasn't going to go away any time soon. The costume she wore in Caelodunia was crude and the eye patch a simple strip of cloth. she knew she'd have to change it up at least a little. She found a tailor and had a patch made that one could see through and got a whole new getup. her old mossy green cloak was dark at night but rather bright now that she saw it in clear sunlight. she swapped it for a reversible cloak, a new color for her persona, Black with red trim while she would look as though she wore a dark green when not out and about at night. She was still a lot more discrete than she once was. Her old night life was only kept going by the good graces of the witnesses. Knowing that someone would look out for you at night who wasn't a hellknight or inquisitor made the people a hell of a lot more comfortable and they weren't dummies who'd rat someone out. Especially not someone with no bounty placed on their head.
She soon found herself in rook delivering a shipment of fruits and wheat from the the farmlands and forests up north. After signing the deal and receiving her pay she decided to hunker down in Rook for a while. She now had two choices. To continue south, Or board a ship. It wasn't a choice she could take lightly and although she hasn't had any trouble with Caelodunia bounty hunters, she wasn't so stupid as to chance it. The docks did have a direct line to the north east and while she may have kept a low profile on her stops she knew someone could have seen her on one of her nights out. It wasn't impossible. So the best choice would be to wait and see. In a town like Rook even if a bounty hunter came looking for her they'd have a very hard time finding her, the only thing to do now is get a job.
Last minute editions now that I have more infermation and confusions have been set strait.
Not long after arriving in Rook Salina felt like she was being watched. Everywhere she went the hairs on the back of her neck would stand on end. She just got a job working with the local fish market and was finally settled in when this feeling started up. It was obvious someone had set their sights on her and regardless of if they are bounty hunters or Hellknights in person she wasn't of the mind to go snooping for whoever wants her head. The night after a fishing boat pulled in she struck a bargain with the captain to give her a ride away from rook, away from this whole oppressive continent. A few weeks later and after a lot of queezy nights Salina found herself on the shores of Illacrim, hoping that she could finally live a "quiet" life.
Done.
Sorry it was so long I just got really REALLY into the character and I actually think I'm going to flesh this out into a web novel. Even with how much it skips over The time in the first under-district was that of 2-3 years of her doing vigilante work and the travel time as a merchant to get from there to rook was another year and a half since she would need time to build up relations and work out trade deals along side her struggling to do her night time hobby as discretely as possible.
