Name
Mazier Myron
Description
Mazier stands at exactly six-feet tall and weighs in a bit over two hundred and fifty pounds. He’s powerfully built with broad shoulders and strong muscles that tautly stretch his green-ish skin, along with a somewhat fuller belly that seems to not be from trying. His facial features are more fortunate than most of his sort, as his “bestial” features that are common with most half-orcs are not quite as uncanny as most and his brown-colored eyes are probably less threatening than the piercing yellow eyes that most half-orcs seem to have. His hair comes down to his shoulders and is a natural-looking shade of dark red, which is naturally flat and seems to shimmer slightly when hit directly by a good source of light, though it’s most noticeable in sunlight. His outfit consists of scale mail armor worn over top of a typical traveler’s outfit, which consists of boots, wool breeches, a sturdy belt, a shirt with a jacket, and a cloak that’s worn on top of the armor. Usually a greataxe is slung on his back, along with a javelin holster and a metal buckler, while a morningstar and a dagger are slung on his hips.
Personality
So long as you don’t have preconceived notions about half-orcs (which is unlikely at best), Mazier is generally agreeable and pretty good with people, though he has often had difficulties with fitting in for various reasons, most of which depend on circumstance. He tries to be nice to everyone he meets, even if they don’t do him the same courtesy. His temper can flare at times (part of the reason why he walks the path of the Barbarian), though he’s generally able to get it back under control and tries to be peaceful in his reactions unless he feels his life or someone else’s may be in danger. When there’s conflict between him and others he always tries to settle things peacefully, even if it means he has to scare the living daylights out of people. Although he prefers more diplomatic methods, woe to those who engage him in battle however. It is in battle where he loosens his restraints on his temper and thus he easily becomes a raging force of nature that is to be reckoned with. While some of this may seem uncharacteristic for a Barbarian, he tries to maintain a level head only because he always aims for the best possible outcome in every situation, although he doesn’t always hit that target. In truth, he does not at all like the tight restrictions that the laws of man place upon his actions and is happy to bend or break them should an opportunity present itself and fall in line with his aim, and he has no qualms against cracking a few skulls either and spilling blood so long as he feels he has enough reason to do so.
Background
Mazier was born to human parents on a farm near the border between the Imperial Realm of Vallonde and Tog Nar; nine months after bandits robbed the farm. During the robbery, Mazier’s father was knocked unconscious and while the other bandits were looting the farm, one of the half-orcs amongst them decided to sexually assault Mazier’s mother before they left. That was what would eventually lead to Mazier’s birth nine months later. His father treated him as if he were his own, coming to terms with the fact that although he despises orcs in general, Mazier was still a living being and deserved to be given the same chance at life as his own flesh and blood. It was Mazier’s father who instilled within him the beliefs that every reasonable person in this world, regardless of whether or not they share your views and opinions, deserves to be treated fairly and with compassion, as well as giving others a chance to resolve things peacefully and that those who deny that chance should be dealt with accordingly. Over time, it became evident to Mazier’s parents that he had a fiery temper and felt emotions more intensely than others. Mazier’s father took this as an opportunity to turn it into something useful and with the potential to do good in the world. Mazier would be constantly be taught by his father whenever his temper flared to harness that emotional energy into physical power, to tap into rage he felt and direct it in a more focused way. It’s Mazier’s father who guided him onto the path of the Barbarian, with Mazier practicing the use of harnessing his rage on predators that preyed on the animals that his parents kept on the farm. Mazier’s mother was important in facilitating the development of Mazier’s ability to solve problems using diplomacy and taking advantage of his more fortunate looks to further that, rather than using the brute force his father was teaching him to harness. Overall, he had a good childhood with a positive relationship with his parents. Sometime after Mazier reached adulthood, his parents saw how much Mazier wanted to see the outside world eventually decided to sit down with him and talk to him about leaving home. It was an emotional moment when it occurred, and it’s also one of the few times that Mazier has ever cried. Soon after that, he packed his things and headed off to Rook. His parents insisted that Mazier go there, since they felt it would be the best place for him to start exploring the world as they knew many adventurers could be found there. When he arrived in rook, the first thing he did was finding somewhere that carried the equipment and goods he needed and purchased them so he could be ready for whatever gets thrown at him next. From that point, Mazier’s life shall now enter a new chapter. Only the gods may know what potential futures lie ahead for him in waiting...
