2 Influence base, +1 for rescuing Yenge and sabotaging the facility.
Gathering several more people than the last attempt, Pab and his allies made their way to Dralhearth to rescue Yenge. Under the guise of priests of Sarenrae aside from Kami who decided to dress up as a rich duchess, the group mingled with the citizens as they trawled and sorted through the burnt out remnants of their homes for half the town had been reduced to little more than burnt cinders and wreckage. Kami negotiated with one man who'd lost his home, offering 225 gold to purchase his land in response to his price of 300. When he declined she gave him 50 gold as good will, to which he responded that for another 225 he'd sell the land. She quickly agreed, then said she'd give another 25 gold if he cleared it for her. Pab, ever helpful, did this for the man and Kami paid him 50 gold instead, in total paying him 325 gold and actually flat out giving him more than he asked for in the first place, much to the amusement of the rest of the group. Regardless, everyone else made their way through the tow, chatting to the residents and helping with their problems, to gather more information. Kami took the man she'd overpaid to a local inn to discuss what had been happening, finding out the mayor was staying in the same inn as his own house had been burnt down. She arranged for a meeting with the mayor only to be declined, so booked a room of her own and changed into peasant clothing.
The rest of the group meanwhile made their way to Yenge's fishing hut and waiting till nightfall to see what oddness would happen. As it turned out, fish-people walked out from the ocean, blending in to the surroundings like chameleons, and spread out through the town conducting their business. Seeing little chance to ambush one without great difficulty, the group went back to retire to a different inn with a couple staying up for most of the night to keep watch in the hopes they'd be ambushed in turn. Kami felt the brush of magic in her own room, though could find no assailant. Concerned, she kept watch all night and successfully fended off some kind of shade. With morning approaching, she finally relented and went to sleep under her bed. Patience was rewarded, as the enemy who had snuck into the room and blended into the ceiling was able to make its way to her prone form, unlimbering its scythe. Pab, wanting to group up after a brief kip, went to the inn Kami was staying in, asking for her room and then going to knock on the door. Startled, the enemy swiftly decapitated poor Kami and by the time Pab broke down the door there was no sign of either the enemy or Kami's head.
Not overly concerned with the loss, the group at least had Kami's wolf, Kitty, to work with. Using a scrap of her clothing, they managed to follow the wolf as it tracked the sent, eventually getting to the docks and pier. With some convining and judicious potion use, the wolf was able to swim underwater, leading them to a coral iris door on the seabed, which Talon cheerfully opened straight away, surprising the fish-man inside. It was swift and brutal - though the alarm was raised, Pab simply turned it off again and soon the fish-man was a skeletal revenant under Talon's control. Exploring the complex revealed a plethora of smooth off-white coral, panels and windows out to the sea, though each window showed a radically different sea floor. Room after room contained a single person in each, though many more were empty. Each victim was catatonic, slowly growing calciferous coral-esque growths which led the party to start putting them out of their misery. It wasn't long before they found Yenge, who was dragged out of the room by the wolf as the group continued to explore and experiment with control panels. At the supposed centre of the complex was a victim so overgrown with coral that it was hard to identify them as formerly human. Jared kindly put it out of its misery at range, though the spores it coughed up as it died were inhaled by several of the party, leading to 'some concern'.
After sabotaging the place by messing with another control console and forcibly opening doors to contribute to flooding, the group went to leave shortly after killing off Kami's wolf - the misbehaving animal had partially eaten Yenge's face, who was still in a catatonic stupor. They brought the unresponsive man to the surface quickly, swimming to the coastline slightly away from Dralhearth for safety. That night, Kami awoke washed up on the coast herself, though her flesh was spongy in the manner of a waterlogged corpse and her neck sported a horrific ridged scar where it seemed her head had been badly sutured on...
