Name: Valerie Mason
Description: Valerie Mason is a blonde woman standing a few inches shy of six foot but with a considerably bulky form. No stranger to hard work, the human female has lightly tanned skin and noticeable muscles, often hidden under common steel scale mail. She's often seen toting a large wooden shield and a longbow in addition to her trusty longsword. She also wears, on a leather cord around her neck, a wooden symbol of Iomedae. Often seen with a warm smile, the woman holds herself in such a way to put people at ease despite that she is often geared up and ready for any threat that might occur.
Background: Born in a sleepy town on the new continent, Valerie Mason, daughter of Darrel and Rowena Mason, has only just reached the cusp of adulthood. Growing up, she was a boisterous young woman with a bright smile and a contagious laugh, though seemed easily fooled by the tricks and jests of the children she grew up with. The youngest of five, her older siblings either got married to some of the young men in the town or elected to work with their father in working stone for construction. The young maiden, however, found herself fascinated with the town guard and their tireless watch to keep the citizens they watched over safe and free from harm or injustice. Such nobility and self-sacrificed called to the girl, up until she reached adolescence. The goddess, Iomedae, began speaking to her in dreams. Troubled by the unclear messages, she sought out the counsel of the local cleric, unsure of what these divine messages were trying to convey. It was through the clerics guidance that she found her goddess had selected her to fight for the weak and helpless, those preyed on by the forces of evil, and to live a life of honor and valor. Not one to shy away from divine purpose, Valerie studied the blade as well as the teaching of her religion, as well as the dogma of other religions, and to this day has remained an upstanding citizen. However, the guard in her small town were effective and efficient in their jobs; there was only so much one more woman with a blade could do. Realizing there existed a world far greater outside her town limits, she ventured out and vowed to bring light and hope to the downtrodden and swift justice to those who threatened the kind and innocent.
