Starting off in a nameless farming village, Choompa, Delerik, and Drov heard rumors of wandering scarecrows and missing livestock. Choompa, wearing a pumpkin on his head, goes up to a farmer and is given some candy. He then goes and bother the other five small houses in the village, begging for candy from them. After this, he goes up to Delarik, who gives him some Harlot Sweets as candy. Deciding to investigate, the party head off towards the nearest farmhouse, meeting aboy man and his dog. The man introduces himself as Zarall, and follows them to join in on the adventure.
Once they arrive a short time later, they find two wary men in light armor with short swords at the ready. Inquiring on what had happened, they state that Greg went off into the fields to investigate a noise, and hasn't returned. Heading to investigate, Delarik is the first to stumble on a few over-sized pumpkins eating what is probably Greg. They quickly discovered that while not very hardy, these odd pumpkins violently exploded upon death. Zarall then recalled that these monsters were called "Jack'O'Lanterns", and told the party of their reach slam attack, and that they can breathe fire. Beaten, bruised, and singed, but alive, most of the group heads back to the two men. Choompa stayed behind to eat the remains of the exploded pumpkins, which tasted like pumpkin pie. During this, Choompa noticed a scarecrow, who was also wearing a pumpkin, stumble towards him. After a brief conversation on what taste good as food, the Scarecrow and Choompa begin to brawl. The others, hearing the commotion, hurry back. The ensuing melee in the corn fields ended swiftly, the only casualty being Atos, Zarall's dog. He was swiftly nurtured back to health. Dragging the corpse, and unmasking it to reveal a horridly shriveled corpse, they head back to the farmhouse. The scarecrow-corpse is identified as Fred, who went missing a month ago.
The farmers offer to feed the party, and they accept. With some time still until dinner is ready, Drov begins scouting the area while Choompa bounces off the walls in the barn. Drov hears a voice calling to him, asking for help. He retrieves the party to investigate, leaving behind Atos. The voice turns out to be a larger than average crow is talking to them. As the party interrogates it, it admits that it was behind the pumpkins and scarecrow. During this conversation it began staring at Drov, then Choompa, and began cackling madly. After it was fed up with talking, it took wing to lay the group low. After an extended combat of spells and swooping from the crow, and arrows from Choompa, slings bullets from Drov, A spear from Zarall, and Tanglefoot bags from Delarik it ended with a dead crow on the ground, which was swiftly double-checked to be dead.
After the combat, most of the party heard a tingling metal sound ringing over the fields. They swiftly returned to the Farmhouse to eat the promised dinner. While most of the party dug in quickly, Drov was suspicious at first. Mama Farmer, seeing this, heaped a huge amount of mashed potatoes on Drov's plate, which he first tasted and then began to eat with delight. After dinner, she pulled out a pipe and began smoking some sort of drug. While most of the party wasn't interested, Drov looked at Mama Farmer with disdain. She offered Drov some of what she was smoking, but he gracefully declined. Choompa, however, was interested and asked her for candy. She pulled a bottle of a strange dark liquid that smelled like milk from one of her fat folds, and offered it to him. Choompa, drinking it quickly, suddenly felt very tired. He fell asleep in the Barn for an hour, having vivid dreams, and woke up rather refreshed.
The party decided to spend the night at the farm, and were woken up be a noise and went outside to check. They then saw a Witch fly down on a magic broom, hand them each a bag, and fly off into the night. Inside each bag was enough candy to last a lifetime, which was then promptly sold.
