Choompa, Mike, Selesu, and Delarik found themselves in a nameless town above Salisara after hearing rumors of a new section opening up from a recent earthquake. Choompa, acting on these rumors, found Selesu in a tavern, and then on the way to look for more people to help, they found Delarik in an infirmary bandaging the wounded. After conversing with their employers the group, now including Davos, headed down to the new area via an older map given to them.
After arriving, They found a cavern with three branching exits. The group decided Delarik, who was drawing the map, should be the one to choose the way. He first chose to go the upper path, finding a room with a pile of bones in it, drew the room, then went back.
in the central cavern again, Choompa was able to spot a crevice in the rock above them. Deciding that they should finish off the other tunnels first, they decided to go down the central tunnel.
Down the central tunnel, they found a large stone door, with "Karak Nashtar" in inscribed in it, in Dwarven. Seeing that the cavern was lit by luminescent crystals in the ceiling, Choompa decided he wanted one. Mike and Davos happily threw him up, and after Choompa poked at the rock with his dagger Mike threw his pick-axe up to Choompa. With the pick-axe, Choompa was able to break free the crystal he was holding on to, falling as he wrenched it out. Mike and Davos were able to catch them, soaking the damage three ways. After this, the group entered the Hold through the hole in the door, finding a large hall filled with empty hearths. Finding a guard room off to the side, with a locked door in it, the group investigated. The lock, which was rusted over, broke open easily, revealing an armory filled with old, rusted gear. Traveling further in, they began to hear the noises of mining from yet deeper within. Upon entering a hall of large statues, they found five Duergar unsocketing gems from the statues' eyes. Choompa immediately fired an arrow, which though while surprised, bounced off one of the gray dwarves' shields. Delarik quickly begins to open negotiations, apologizing for the Goblin's rash behavior. Mike followed up by saying that he didn't like Dwarves, and that there ale was terrible. The Duergar agreed, on all fronts except the quality of dwarven ale. Delarik finished mapping this part of the Hold, then the group left on amicably terms with the Duergar.
Back in the central cavern, they took the lower tunnel to find a cavern with a deep pool of water, lined with more glowing crystals. After seeing some caves near the bottom of the hole, they decided that fish things be left to fish people and land things be left to land people and went back to the main cave.
In the main cavern, they group heard a song in Dwarven from the central tunnel. Deciding to wait for the Duergar, they settled down while Delarik copied more maps. When they finally showed up, they took off their gear and climbed up into the crevice. Dragging their gear up, they could hear the sounds of dwarven cursing slowly fade away. Deciding it would be rude to intrude on their privacy, the group left back to the surface.
After getting paid, Mike remembered the bones in one of the caverns, and deciding that it would lower future property values, left to go clear it it with the group in tow. Upon arriving back in the cavern, the bones formed together into skeletons, three human-sized ones and a large ogre-sized one. The Skeletons failed to hit anything, except for the one critical hit from the Ogre Skeleton, instantly killing Davos. After mopping up the skeletons, they took Davos to a mortuary cult to be revived, and then left there separate ways.
Oh, and Choompa had Talon read him a bedtime story from his Book of War Prayers.
