I've been poking around the site for a couple of weeks now and I was considering creating a character and joining, because I like the idea of a persistent world that combines real session, play by post, and character interactions in the forums.
However, I have to ask. Has this site suddenly died? I notice no game activity for the month of August at all and every attempt at play by post seems to die the first day or two.
I'd simply like to be assured that the site is active before invest time in creating a character, background, and all that just to be disappointed.

The discord is fairly active currently. We're in a quiet time thanks to the time of year - when a lot of players and GM's have exams, holidays and so on. Not only that but we're currently reworking the overall balance as we've been around for 2 years as of next month. It's likely to get a lot more active in a couple of weeks as the changes are finalized and roll out. By all means feel free to join the Discord and chat to people. discord.gg/0owHEodnhVEx6hMi |

Thanks. I did consider the time of year and figured that might be the issue. I'm glad to see it though. I'm actually pretty enthusiastic about joining the world here at Dragon's Gate.
Choosing what I want to play has been a difficulty the past couple of weeks. So much I want to do, but only so much time to invest. I think it'll be great though. Thank you.

A lot of people have moved to Discord lately (as in, the last week) and the irc is significantly quieter as a result. Still, it's on irc.sorcery.net and the #Dragonsgate channel. Currently 9 of us on there, with 22 on Discord.

I recently returned here since the summer ended and I am a GM. I'm planning on running quite a few low level sessions in the level 1-8 range, hopefully at least 1 session a week. Also just a warning, like Geck was saying we are working on some changes that will affect character creation, so you may want to keep that in mind. The worst thing that would happen though would that you would have to change the character to fit the new guidelines.

To expand, basically no crafting feats/traits and starting stats between 8 and 18 after racial adjustments.
