These articles, hereby known as THE GUILD CHARTER document the official policies of PLAYERGUILD, hereby referred to as THE GUILD, as a self-standing entity incorporated for the purpose of increasing survivability, and trust during the plundering of Stonehell. By swearing fealty to THE GUILD, members agree to uphold all articles contained herein:
HIERARCHY: All guild members remain equal, though some distinctive positions are necessary to ensure the betterment, and continuation of the guild. Such positions, and their duties are as follows:
The GUILDMASTER presides over all guild votes as a ‘neutral party’, and as such is only allowed a vote to settle ties. The Guildmaster does not rule with impunity, and must adhere to all guild standards, policies, and adherences. Guildmaster is an elected position, with an indefinite term.
The STEWARD is responsible for the management of guild property. The Steward is given a vote in all guild matters.
The SERGEANT-AT-ARMS is the guild’s battle leader and tactician during deployment in Stonehell. The SERGEANT-AT-ARMS is given a vote in all guild matters.
Each MEMBER within the guild is sworn to uphold guild policy, and awarded a vote in all guild matters. Each member, including leadership are allowed to call for votes
RECRUITS of the guild are allowed shares from all Stonehell excursions which they participate. RECRUITS are expected to adhere to all guild policies, including verbal and written agreements contained within the hiring agreement. RECRUITS are not allowed votes within the guild.
GUILD POLICIES:
GENERAL: All membership, leadership, and recruits of THE GUILD are expected to preserve the lives of guildmates to the best of their ability, with discretion for their own safety. No member, leadership, or recruit may participate in the direct demise of a guildmate willingly. This excludes deaths of an unintended, accidental, unsecured animal, or coerced nature. Deaths under scrutiny will be subject to a guild vote to ascertain the intentions behind the incident. The risk of death within Stonehell is so great, and so random that we must place great trust in each other, as well as the intention of any accidental demise. As such, no member may profit from the death of a guildmate, and any proceeds from death will hereby be placed within a guild fund for the purchase of arms, armor, equipment and property necessary to operate guild excursions. This includes unclaimed, uncollected shares from guild excursions due to death, disappearance, or guild expulsion. In the event of the death of a GUILD MEMBER, a new member must be sought, and promoted to the title of MEMBER. (OOC: Player Characters “Death remakes” are always ratified as MEMBERS of the guild. New Player Characters to the campaign can initially be hired on as RECRUITS, until their first successful return from the dungeon, which will result in total continued guild membership there on out)
CONTRACTS: All contracts, hiring agreements, personal arrangements, verbal contracts between all guild MEMBERS, Leadership, and RECRUITS are expected to be fulfilled fully and completely. Nonadherence to any form of agreement will result in the termination of guild membership, pay, and office.
HIRING AGREEMENT: The standard HIRING AGREEMENT is as follows:
TERMS: All Hirelings, hereby known as RECRUITS, are expected to behave in a manner becoming of THE GUILD. This includes total adherence to all policy and procedures defined in the articles herein. MEMBERS within THE GUILD are allowed SPONSORSHIP of RECRUITS only by way of this section entitled HIRING AGREEMENT. GUILD MEMBERS (including Leadership) hereby known as SPONSORS are expected to hire necessary RECRUITS to ensure success during guild excursions. All RECRUITS are expected to take at very least an equal share of the risk, for an equal share of their sponsor’s pay. Special hiring stipulations may be placed if ratified by a guild vote.
AMENDMENTS: A guild is a living organization subject to change, and as such, THE GUILD allows for, but must reach a unanimous vote to amend the GUILD CHARTER.
