Character Name: Abe Grimbeard
Character & Description:
This surly example of a dwarf stands at 4'3" and about as big around, he bears several tattoos of exotic origin. Obviously a saltbeard dwarf, he bears a few scars and scratches and has the rough, coarse hands of a sailor. He bears a few key pieces of grimy, sweat stained clothing, a light scarf or ascot, a chef's hat, and a hook that replaced his hand.
Background Information:
Abe's early years did not go well for him, his first 5 years of life were spent on a nearly deserted island after his parent's ship ran aground and the majority of the crew passed. Then the savages arrived and eradicated the remaining crew. A benevolent tribe of simians took abe in, gave him shelter and tried to return him to his own kind. Eventually this happened, but not after a long time.
It's no surprise that his upbringing returned him to the sea, he was afflicted with a kind of wanderlust that is common amoung orphans of the dwarf species and he became a decent sailor. Abe learned quickly about the different kinds of fungi and how to integrate them into normal alchemical recipes. The bosun's mate position was a very apt position for him, as he was more intelligent than your average seaman, and just as ruthless as your average pirate. Speaking of...
Piracy is a fairly commonplace term on the high seas, and as such... He's spent his time on a a few pirate's crews, and lost his hand defending a score from privateers. He's made a few voyages since loosing his hand in the rigging, but he still carries himself with an air of optimism.
