Heya folks,
Here's hoping you all had good holidays and a pleasant New Year! The start of the New Year marks some new changes for Dragons Gate.
Minion Cap
After a lot of games and feedback from GMs and players, we're revising the Minion Cap to as follows for each ECL (Effective Character Level) -
At ECL 1, a player may only have 1 Permanent or summoned minion at a time.
At ECL 5, a player may have 1 Permanent minion, or 2 summoned minions
At ECL 10, a player may have 1 Permanent and 1 Summoned, or 3 summoned minions
At ECL 15, a player may have 1 Permanent and 2 Summons, or 4 summoned minions
At ECl 20, the minion cap no longer applies. Adventurers at this pinnacle of power have more than enough energy to maintain nigh infinite amount of minions.
Spell Purchasing Limits
Characters may purchase spellcasting services using spells up to, but not past, a level available to a full casting class two levels higher than them (such as wizard, cleric, druid and so forth). This allows players to buy spells slightly earlier than an equal level character could get them, without unbalancing characters. The main exception to this would be from character death - revival spells and Restoration is available to any character with the funds to purchase them. The NPC cap of level 15 still applies however, so 8th level spells would be the highest purchasable.
Upcoming New Races and Regions
Currently in the works are Tengu, which are a single game away from unlock and Hobgoblins, who are similarly quite close. These are both aimed to be unlocked later this month, with potential work on the next races beginning in February. Most players are also pretty familiar with Rook and the surrounding villages and cities, but not as many explore the entire continent. We'll be adding more detail to the wiki on these areas as we go through and tidy everything up. We're currently looking in to methods for characters to more easily explore these other continents without the associated problems of potentially being stranded away from everyone they know...
So for those of you reaching the heights of being well known in Rook enjoy your extra combat minions and feel free to look forward to the upcoming new races.
Gamingly,
The Leadership Council
