Option to buy cheap capital as a quest reward.
In paizo's downtime sections they mention that GMs may consider giving capital as adventure rewards or monster loot, and I was thinking that it could be really beneficial (especially when a character only has a few rooms) to include in session rewards a pool of capital which would be available for the party to divvy up and pay the earned cost for.
For example the quest giver might put some of their resources at the parties disposal as part of the quest rewards. That NPC might make available 4goods 4influence 8labor. One player might choose to pay the earned cost for 2 of the labour and another player can choose to pay the earned cost for the influence. I think this type of reward system might be healthy for DG because what activates it is playing in DG games. I presume that having an active community of gms and players running games regularly is a priority of DG and so reward systems that incentivize playing games are really advantageous.
Having the option to buy a few more capital for the discounted price would be particularly helpful when a character only has a couple roomss and between their personal skilled work check and the buildings check they are only making a small handful of capital each day. At that early rate getting the capital you need to add more rooms to earn more each day takes a while. Offering the chance to buy cheap capital as a reward would add some additional wealth to PCs if the average reward for the session wasn't brought down to compensate, and while that could be done so that players dont end up gaining more wealth, im not sure that's even really necessary. A lvl 2 quest offering 15 capital as a reward is effectively a 150gp bonus split amongst the pcs, and this extra wealth is really only useful for being spent towards making downtime rooms.
Just thought I'd put this forward as a suggestion. Thank you for taking the time to listen!
