FAQ
Just to help out and hopefully avoid some issues we've seen in character submissions here's a list of questions/issues that frequently arise -
Q: How do I fill in the sheet? None of the boxes are editable.
A: You must download the sheet and open it in Adobe Reader. Other PDF readers may work but we will not troubleshoot them. The most up to date version of Adobe Reader is able to read, modify, and perform the auto calculations built into the DG supplied character sheet. You must open the file locally in the Reader not through your web browser.
Q: I opened it in Adobe Reader and it still doesn't work.
A: Update your Adobe Reader. If you're still having issues redownload the character sheet.
Q: Can I use the backstory from this other game/book/movie/comic?
A: Please don't, you might have a good backstory from another game but if it does not fit into the Dragons Gate lore (found on the wiki) then your character cannot be approved. Yes we do review backstory the same way we review character mechanics.
Q: I entered my point buy into the sheet but it's not giving me the scores.
A: The sheet does not calculate point-buy. In order to do that you will need to either manually use the point buy chart or use the calculator linked above. That calculator is the one used by the character reviewers to check your submission so if you use it you should not have any problems.
Q: Can I use flaws to get more feats?
A: Dragons Gate does not use the flaws system.
Q: Can I use this trait from one of the Adventure Paths?
A: Campaign specific, or Golarion specific traits are not allowed.
