Been sitting on this for awhile. I'm not really happy with the current way character sheets are managed, so I made a template with some instructions on how to use it for people to maintain a character sheet on the wiki. These aren't mandatory at the time being as I'd like to get any kinks worked out, but if you maintain your character up to date on the wiki, I won't also require that you upload new sheets into the dropbox. The wikia has the advantages of having a clear and concise history, being easier to edit, and generally having a more customizable layout if you'd like to add fields and such. It won't autocalculate statistics for you, though, because I'm not allowed to play with JS. Feel free to PM me or post here with feedback.

I just gave it a shot, and I'm finding that it's more tedious than filling out submitting the PDF-based sheet, and takes a bit more figuring out than the PDF sheets. It's fine once you get the hang of it, but it's not quite as intuitive and requires a bit of knowledge with Mediawiki formatting.. Maybe something run through Google Drive could work. I've used a few good spreadsheet-based character sheets. However, the good thing is that field size isn't as restricted and it can be updated in real time, so I can go into more detail with how class features and feats work, which is quite helpful, as, at least in my opinion, one of the biggest challenges of PDF-based sheets is finding a good one that provides enough room for writing out class features and spell information, and even add or remove columns if necessary. However, a rich text or spreadsheet-based character sheet on google drive could provide similar advantages without wading through lines of code. The gist of it: Wikia: - Pros: Can easily be updated without having to upload a new file, more space for writing out class features, feat descriptions, and character descriptions. Can be easily reverted to a previous version through the history function. Formatting is flexible
- Cons: Formatting is unintuitive to those unfamiliar with Mediawiki formatting and as a consequence, slightly raises the barrier of entry. Wading through lines of code is necessary for editing the sheet. Fields do not auto-calculate.
PDF: - Pros: Certain fields can auto-calculate certain statistics. Layout is intuitive and easy to figure out. Can easily be reverted to a previous version by saving multiple copies.
- Cons: Limited space for filling out feat descriptions, class features, and character descriptions. Formatting is inflexible Large amounts of revisions take up space on players' hard drives.
Google Docs: - Pros: Spreadsheets can auto-calculate certain statistics. Rich Text-based sheets have flexible layouts and provide more space for class features, feat descriptions, and character descriptions. Layout can be intuitive and easy to figure out in either format.
- Cons: Can't be easily reverted to a previous version. Messing with layout of a Spreadsheet may create problems with auto-calculation. Rich Text-based sheets lack auto-calculation.

Changes to PDFs and Google Docs aren't easily trackable. PDFs can be tracked by just holding every version, but that doesn't scale very well.
It should also be possible for someone unfamiliar with wiki formatting to edit the shit using the visual editor. The biggest disadvantage is that wikia doesn't support auto calculation.

I just realized that the visual editor is a thing. It's been so long since I've used Wikia
Though I will point out that if you use the visual editing to add rows or columns to the tables, sometimes the formatting comes out weird, so that is best handled in the source editor

I just put up a character using the template today. It's very simple and straightforward, though there is a significant (bug/user error). Do not use '+' or '-' at the start of a table entry, it breaks the formatting if you open it up in the source editor. Learned this the hard way.

Yeah. You gotta go into the source editor, then add a space before the + or -

I tried to start up a wiki page but had a couple of errors which resulted in me losing a lot of information twice over. I think I'll just stick to uploading PDFs for now. Sorry!

I resorted to using parintheses around negative numbers and don't use plus signs for positive numbers.
