After hearing of the goblins working out the beginnings of work and living arrangements the motley band, plus a couple of new faces to the group, made their way to the small goblin camp outside Rook. Hearing of a job offer, the group found the half-orc merchant from before who promised payment in exchange for essentially liberating the friendly goblins to the southeast from their mighty goblin oppressors. With the promise of actual payment this time, and after a friendly chat with the goblins, the collection of super best friends headed out to the southeast.
It wasn't long before the party came across what appeared to be a deer on its side on the ground. As Haro went to check it, the ambush was sprung. A trio of goblins, 2 of the armoured variety and yet another robed bugger! The luck was on the adventurers side however as they mercilessly cut them down for no real loss in return, though Jane was knocked unconscious again. Following on from their success they encountered another 3. This time though rather than attacking, they noticed that the trio were emaciated and picking fruit in the trees. With some calming words and Lorek to translate as he was the only one who spoke Goblin, they found out in greater detail that a good number of goblins were indeed enslaved by 17 or so more vicious goblins who ruled with a small iron fist. Feeling compassion for them resulted in the wooden manacles being removed and all 3 being fed with the younger 2 sent back towards Rook. The older one was convinced to act as a guide, leading them closer towards the goblin base situated in a tower no more than a few hours out.
En route however they encounted a sizable contingent of the goblin armed forces and a battle of spellcasters broke out as chunks of the battlefield were covered in silent fictional fog. Never the less eventually the goblins were once again taken out one by one with Jane remaining nearer the back this time round rather than running in and singing. As the goblins were utterly routed one managed to escape entirely, though both robed gits were brought down and in one case savaged by a mildly glowing dog. Another was captured, and a very mild interrogation began.
Haro decided the best plan would be to hogtie and knock out their captive, hanging him from a statue then lying in wait to ambush any enemy forces who came to check. Sure enough within an hour an armoured goblin wandered in to view, evidently trying to stay hidden. As he crept closer to Jane hiding in a bush everyone held their breath. Then he bumped in to Jane who hadn't moved at all, and the goblin screamed. Leaping to action Bol slammed the goblin to the ground where he lay bleeding out. As various party members sighed at the plan not working out as well as hoped another armoured goblin arrived, saw the situation and quietly cried out in despair. Jane, hoping to improve the situation, charged towards the goblin exclaiming in a language that he didn't understand that everything was fine and not to be scared. He understandably bolted.
As Lorek checked and realised the goblin they'd subdued was in fact another emaciated goblin in disguise, Bol stabilized him. After some discussion the party decided to head back to Rook with the sickly and enemy goblins to heal up and report their progress. As they got to the city they met the goblins outside again. Hearing the exploits made the goblins fairly impressed as half the enemy goblins had been taken out and they'd rescued one. This resulted in getting paid half, even though they'd not finished the job. When they enquired about the two young goblins they'd sent back however, the goblins just shrugged. Those two had never turned up.
As the party went to sell the various loot they bumped in to Rainen who was greatly interested in the stuffed deer to put up in The Golden Plow as a conversation piece. A price of 100gp was agreed on despite the best efforts of Jane to try and sell it for 20gp first to Big Duade. As such Rainen paid 80 to cover the difference and everyone was happier all round.
