Darvan
Newly arrived in Rook Darvan seek some employment until a better opportunity comes along or he decides to move along
Learnt for his days as a woodcutter that inns, taverns and homes need wood for cooking and heat. Seeking out the local wood supplier, Darvan approaches the gruff looking foreman
"What do you want?" said the man when he decides to notice Darvan
"I am looking for some work maybe you could use an extra hand?" replied Darvan
"That depends, are you any good" the foreman said doubtably looking at this somewhat slim man before him
Instead of answering Darvan gestures to the axe in the foreman hand, the man hands over it reluctantly and Darvan makes his way to the work area select an young tree about a foot and half thick. Showing more than his ability to swing the tool quickly fells the tree and remove the branches ready for transport.
moving back to the clearly impressed man, Darvan attempts to hand back the axe but the man doesn't take it
"Whats your name boy?"
"Darvan"
"Well Darvan you meet the quota each day and I will pay you a honest wage daily" said the foreman clearly been through this before
"Do you have a axe?" to which Darvan shakes his head
"Well hold onto it, I'll withhold part of your pay of your first day to cover the axe when you want to quit bring it back in good nick and you'll get that money back" said the foreman walking away "you start today and you're already behind. chop chop"
