so this started as a chat in the paizo massage board about if "Daring Champion" who is a cavelier archetype who get some swashbuckler abilities including Precise Strike deed which by itself count levels of swashbuckler. and the "daring champion" class iteslf says nothing about it counting for swashbuckler levels. as well as the arcane deed arcane power of magus that allow him to take such deeds yet still never says something along the line and you count as swashbuckler for it (well the later has a requirement that count him for taking the deeds, not using them.) making abilities that by themselves do absolutely nothing .
anyway. this can be found in a lot of other different things like an oracle channeling energy and familiar gained from different abilities.
eventually some1 linked me this post which thankfully gives a simple view of the matter of "borrowed" abilities.
