Heya Folks,
Looks like we've gotten a huge influx of players, thanks mostly to the efforts of DiskElemental and Xemedus. Great job guys!. If anyone else has been putting in work on this front make sure to let me know so we know who cares Seems like a lot of the new folks are getting established and we're starting to get some new blood on the GM side of things from this influx too. Hopefully this helps us push into the next phase of DGs growth. I have to say, seeing three consecutive games happening tonight was pretty awesome.
Ok, on to business. Really there are just a couple things I want to call to everyone's attention, both of which came about because of player death and how much it sucks to lose a character in this type of setting. First, we have a new item custom to DG. Check it out:
Salve of the Risen Dead - This salve take 10 minutes to apply and an additional 10 minutes to take affect. Other than that, it functions as the raise dead spell. The base price for this wonderous item is 3,500gp. Requirements for crafting are the craft wonderous item feat and the raise dead spell.
This item, combined with a flat reduction of raise dead's component costs down to 2400 gp, should make coming back alive significantly easier. At these prices, if you choose to play the reincarnate lottery, well that's on you.
Second, we're going live with what we're calling character refunds. Basically in the event of death, or voluntary retirement, you can refund your character and apply xp and wealth to an existing character or a new one. There are rules for what exactly you can do with this and you can find those here.
On the world building front, our new head world builder (Masoth) has been doing a lot of cool work in the background to get Eramar full written up. Besides his own stuff, he's been doing a great job getting other folks involved. He's also been joined by Ironfang who has been doing some cool map work to give us a well needed upgrade. I can't wait to be able to show this stuff to you guys.
And that's about it for now. Take care and enjoy some games!
Gamingly,
The Leadership Council
