In an effort to consolidate information before it has been added to the wiki, I have a few questions on how buildings work for downtime. Some of these may just be points that I need clarified. I will try to keep this updated with questions that come up in the future, adding them to the OP along with any answers that come up.
1) To make a building or add a room to a building, you do not use downtime to construct it, but you have to abide by the in-game calendar to determine the build and finish dates.
2) Buildings have their own separate roll for downtime, that is combined from all rooms you have in that building.
A) This roll is always made on a take 10 roll with no bonuses provided by the player.
B) All room bonuses are added to the roll.
C) The roll can be made to provide gp or capital.
1) GP earned from buildings is "check/10 = GP"
2) Capital is earned at a rate of "roundDown(check/10,0) = capital" at a cost of "capital * pricePerCapital".
3) Can you use your player roll to provide GP while using the building to produce capital in the same downtime period/day?
4. Can a player let another player own multiple distinct buildings? My understanding is yes, but they only profit from one.
5. Can a player let another player use a room or building that they own. For example, if player A owns a forge, can they let player B use the forge for their own downtime earnings?
6. On the same vein as 5, can a PC allow another PC to use the bonuses that a room provides (for example, a Magical Repository to gain Spellcraft/Knowledge bonuses)?
7. I may not have been clear in questions yesterday, but do you have to choose the kind of capital your building produces for the day and make the check, or can your building create multiple different kinds of capital per day (for example, Magic and Influence) by using different parts of the building (such as a Throne Room for Influence and a Magical Repository for Magic)?
From someone who is not well-versed in this, could someone explain the different types of capital and what they do?

Correct. Effectively, it takes 1 real day for every 4 days of construction.

1) GP earned from buildings is "check/10 = GP"
2) Capital is earned at a rate of "roundDown(check/10,0) = capital" at a cost of "capital * pricePerCapital".
All correct.
3) Can you use your player roll to provide GP while using the building to produce capital in the same downtime period/day?
Yes, as per the rules here.
4. Can a player let another player own multiple distinct buildings? My understanding is yes, but they only profit from one.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. You can own as many buildings as you like, but you add all their modifiers together to determine your checks rather than making separate checks for every building.
5. Can a player let another player use a room or building that they own. For example, if player A owns a forge, can they let player B use the forge for their own downtime earnings?
No. You have to pay for mechanical advantages. Ya dirty sharing communist.
6. On the same vein as 5, can a PC allow another PC to use the bonuses that a room provides (for example, a Magical Repository to gain Spellcraft/Knowledge bonuses)?
In the same vein as 5, also no. Damn commies.

You can make a check for each type of production for your downtime, but you may only apply an individual room to one roll. So if I have a classroom, for example, that adds +5 to all capital checks, I can only use that on one of my capital checks.
From someone who is not well-versed in this, could someone explain the different types of capital and what they do?
I suggest reading the rules on d20pfsrd and the dragonsgate wiki. While the downtime rules aren't extremely complex, they are very dense, and running off a terse explanation will not serve you well.
