Revlas poured over his notes. Ink smudged across his nose as he tapped his quill in thought. A man entered the tavern looked around for a moment and approached the studious man at his table.
"You Revlas Bertanonel?" The man muttered placing his hands on the table in a heavy lean, crumpling a few of the papers on Rev's table. Rev gave the man an irritated look before swatting the man's fingers with his cane. The man yelped and held his hands up to his chest in pain.
"What do you want, then?" Rev growled as he straighten the documents carefully.
"Dragon Publishing sending you your cut from your book." The man grumbled under his breath before slipping a pouch onto the table. Rev paused then reached for the pouch. He opened it cautiously and blinked as he removed the few coins in the pouch.
"This is all?" Rev grumbled, a little insulted by the meager amount.
"Just be glad you're getting paid at all." The brute chuckled before strolling out of the bar.

Darius Nittleton was a bald, fat gnome who seemed to always be out of breath. He wiped his sweaty brow as he looked over the manuscript in his hands. Rev sat emotionless across Darius's cluttered desk. Rev's spiked gauntlets clasped tightly onto the head of his ornately carved cane. His jaw muscle taut as he stared intently at the gnome.
"Why do you always have to be so damned depressing, Bertanonel." Darius huffed and slammed the manuscript onto the desk sending various papers flying. Revlas made no movement to catch the papers, in fact he remained perfectly still his eyes fuming. The gnome continued. "This Bubba Gilles character. First of all, terrible name why not something traditional heroic like Stewart Goodknight. Secondly, people buying these things are terrified as it is, they want stories about the good knight rescuing the princess from a dragon not some borderline bandit."
Revlas tapped his cane against the floor sharply as he stood up in a swift motion. His eyes glared against the bright lamp light of the study. Darius yelped at the sudden motion.
"If you don't like it I will take it else where but, I am not twisting him to your will. Some embellishment is expected with storytelling but, you want me to create a complete perversion of the character." Revlas's voice was steady but a subtle anger seethed.
Darius's moment of fear passed quickly and his face slowly turned a deep red. He pointed a fat, sausage-like finger in Rev's face.
"Don't cross me, Bertanonel! Sell to who? No books get published in the Slums without my say so. You'll make the changes and you'll like it." The gnome screamed, his eyes popping in anger. He grabbed a sack of coin and threw it at Revlas. The elf caught it with his hand. His eyelids slowly lowered into a fierce glare.
"We shall see. Perhaps I will let Sir Gilles and his men know about these edits. I'm sure he'll be much less pliable than me." Rev bounced the pouch in his hand, disappointed by the weight of it. The color slowly drained from the Gnomes face.
"...Bubba Gilles is real?.." He muttered a little nervously. His beady eyes watching Revlas carefully. Revlas pocketed the pouch. A sigh escaped the elf's lips and he brushed some hair from his eyes.
"All my stories are true, albeit stretched a little for entertainment purposes. Now, I'll let you sit with that manuscript on your desk. Unless you want a very large, self-righteous brigand breaking into your house in the middle of the night to ask why you butchered his stories, I recommend taking a second look at that Manuscript." With that, Revlas turned and strode from the cramped office. He didn't really care what else the editor had to say and if the point was to be argued the gnome knew where he could be found.

Walking into the golden plow one afternoon Herace starts digging through his various pockets in his bag to find a note he left himself. Looking down at the note he scribbled earlier he reads out loud, "good story man. Goes to plow. Elf. Ask story." scanning the bar he notices a elf in the corner looking over some notes. "Must be story man". Herace then walks over to the elf and sits down across from him saying "you story man?"

"Herace..." Rev had been eating when Herace sat down across from him. Revlas took in the sight of the brute he had worked with prior in the Sewers before wiping a few crumbs from his lips with a stark white handkerchief. It had been some time since their adventure with the Ratfolk and, as much Revlas did not want to admit it, Herace's portrayal in the book of the adventure had been the story's most popular character. The elf delicately placed the white cloth on the table by his plate before focusing his attention on the man before him. "...why are you looking for a story man?"

Revlas rolled his eyes grabbing a book from a half strewn pile. He pried the crisp cover opened and dipped his quill in the ink vial. The tip of his pen made extravagant motions as he elegantly signed his name on the inside cover. He flipped the book closed and placed his fingertips firmly against the cover as he slid it across the table towards Herace.
"There's your story." He moved back to his work a hand raising to rub the thin bridge of his nose, smearing it with ink. He scanned a page of the Draconic text he had been reading before and took down a note into a rather worn notebook. He turned his attention back to Herace seeing him still sitting there he huffed and waved a hand.
"Go ahead and tell your story. I can listen while I work." He murmured seeming a little irritated being one who enjoyed solitude while he was doing his research.

Herace then proceded to tell his stories of his adventures to him focusing on his recent adventure in the underground dwarven ruins. He included things such as the vast amount of treasure, the fire spirits, the flame bearded dwarfs, the man who walked through fire singing songs of rage, and the other oddities of the mysterious ruins.
