Distributed throughout the poorer sections of Rook, a publication sits neatly printed on stalls and in waiting rooms. A painting of seven heroes and a wolf over shadowed by a giant shadowy figure surrounded by menacing cloaked figures inside of a sewer tunnel. Each cloaked figure wields either a blood soaked pair of daggers, jagged axe, or large bow. Their eyes a glow with malice. The bottom of the book was etched the name "REVLAS BERTANONEL"
CHAPTER ONE: AN ODD MESSENGER
Lenon Terbsal was a fair skinned barrel chested man. Black furs draped across the shoulders of his gleaming plate armor. Neatly cropped silver hair topped his handsome head and seamlessly etched down his strong jaw bones into a short beard. His gray eyes stared distantly into his mug, his mind miles away.
"Thinking of me?" A voluptuous woman slipped up beside Lenon. Her crimson eyes burned with determination and her lips pursed with a subtle smirk. Lenon slipped a hand comfortably onto her armored hips, a grin spreading across his lips.
"Always, Telia." Lenon's voice low and seductive as he leaned in close his his Tiefling companion. His gauntlet slipped to her cheek as he began to pull her in for a kiss.
"LEE-NON!" A ponderous voice cried out bringing silence to the normally noise filled tavern. A giant of a man charged Lenon knocking over chairs and tables. His burly, leather wrapped, arms broke apart the lover's embrace and he easily lifted the metal clad Lenon into the air.
"Hi...Jayce..." Lenon wheezed as the air was squeezed from his lungs in the mighty bare hug. Jayce had permanent simpleton expression on his face, his eyes spread a tad too far apart. Eyes looking opposite direct as ever in a permanent argument. He breathed heavily, mouth constantly agape with a small trail of drool streaming out of the corner of lips.
"Put him down, Jayce." A voice chimed in. Two men entered the tavern side by side. The first an average looking man with an aged look about his eyes. The other donned with an elaborately dressed doctor's mask shaped like a crow, feathers tuft out the sides of his mask. His shoulders donned in ebon feathers, beads clicking against one another as he walks.
"Crow..." Lenon murmured, irritation seethed in his winded voice as he was set back to the floor. "Ready to give up chasing bandits across rooftops and become a real adventurer?"
"I'll quit protecting the innocent the day you give up the ale." The Ebon Crow chuckled behind his black mask.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" A bar maiden screeched and sent ale and her platter of drinks flying. The heroes weapons drew in a flash at the noise. Their feet spreading, ready for anything coming their way. The taverns doors flew open.
A round faced woman stumbled in. Her large blue eyes staring at the floor. She ticked loudly, her lips pursed as she cooed at her quarry. "Come 'ere, mousie." Her musical voice drifting through the tavern.
A tiny white mouse scurried up Lenon's leg before stopping on his shoulder to chew at his furs. A rolled up piece of parchment tied to the rodent's back. Lenon raised a brow towards the mouse before carefully gripping it by the nape of it's neck. He slipped the paper off it's back and brought the mouse into view of the young woman. "Looking for this?" Lenon murmured towards the young woman.
The wide eyes maiden gave a small hop before running over to Lenon and gripping the mouse firmly. "There you are Mousie, I was worried that someone was going to step on you."
Lenon sighed, her attitude was exhausting but, the note was intriguing. He carefully unrolled it and peered at it's contents:

"WHAT IT SAY, LEE-NON?" Jayce bellowed out after Lenon inspected the message for a moment. The silver haired warrior sighed and rolled up the paper.
"It appears that someone has been kidnapped in the sewers." He tossed a few coins on the bar and began to head out. The others stared in silence for a moment before following. The young woman paused before chasing after them.
"Hey! That's Mousie's note! You can't just take it!"
