Player Loot:
Lorek Ra'dari: 2000gp, 3 oxen.
Ben Weese: 2000gp, 80 liters of Titan Centipede Venom.
Faelyn Lenci: 2000gp, 3 oxen.
Slag Fats: 2000gp, 3 oxen.
Naya Sharpe: 2000gp, 3 oxen.
Witnessing Rook prospering from trade and seeing oddly dressed visitors, Naya and Ben conversed and found that not only was work possible, but the potential for another new portal location would possibly open up to Rook. The man Halladin, and his compatriot, had apparently travelled for a long time to reach Rook after hearing of the exploits of those who lived there, and were keen to receive the expertise of the adventurers dwelling there. Aided by an aasimar, who brought forth a golden man with void-born eyes to accomplish the task, a keystone from the settlement was used to create a portal there which everyone was more than happy to use, though it did seem a tad evil. Regardless, once there the city they saw looked serene, everyone was friendly and a sizable proportion of half elves and to an extent dwarves were seen.
The trouble was described as a giant burrowing monster attacking and demolishing villages out in the sands away from the city and, with Naya's expert recognition whilst drugged up, it was identified as likely some form of centipede. True enough, after baiting it with a lot of oxen (and fending off an opportunistic Roc), a titan centipede surfaced and swallowed the cows all in one go. The group, seeing their trap had worked, proceeded to slice the poor thing apart in short order before rescuing most of the cows. Ben, seeing the size of the venom sacks, gleefully harvested both and with help carried the pair, plus a bunch of teeth, back to the city.
After getting paid and deciding to hang around a bit, Ben spent time with the local alchemists and discussed their experiments as everyone else largely went sightseeing around town. Slag, aiming to meditate, vexed a nearly earthen elemental with his gaseous guise, but retreated safely before antagonizing it too much. During the night more cloaked individuals came out as it was cooler, though they took efforts to keep their faces largely concealed. Through careful deduction, and ben flat out having a chat with one with it's hood down, it was discerned that the beings were in fact illithids, or 'Mindflayers'. Though supposedly amiable, most of the group was naturally worried about this new and sudden security threat, regardless of how good the libraries were around the city. The presence of a brand new dirty great big portal location wasn't lost on anyone who sought out both Commander Bergstein and Nicoroth to inform them. It looked like the potential newly found neighbours weren't exactly ideal...
