Rumblings had been heard that the orc tribes were coercing, or at least encouraging, giants to act as seige engines. This was corroborated by the scraps of torn armour carted through the streets of Rook, so the intrepid adventurers (and Rainen) made their way to find out more. Suffice to say, Commander Bergstein was more than happy to pay per giant slain, since armoured siege giants were likely to be 'a problem' should they get pointed too close to Rook. Heading out with carts, it was a fairly simple sequence of events which led to a quartet of dead giants and a remarkably placid fifth who ran away very, very fast after seeing what had happened to the first four.
Carting the corpses back got sufficient payment, though the additional sale of one of the armour sets topped the purses off nicely, leading to a job well done. Lorek and Solomon were also quite happy to obtain sufficiently pristine, or at least intact, corpses to utilize.
