The snitch the adventurers have left in the eastern slums heard some disturbing rumors and so he rushed to the plow to find his empoyers. Sadly, he could find only one, and so he informed Thaedius about talks of a plot of the thieves guild to incriminate a half-orc figurehead of the easern slums. Thaedius, knowing the old shaman, and the repercusions of this, immediatly gathered a few fellow adventurers to help him with this, but alas, as the group was about to leave, a group of guards escorted him away, leaving the less experienced adventurers to deal with the immediate problem.
The old shaman and his guards were adamant that thieves would be tough pressed to harm them, but after a mention of tunnels, the elder revealed his basement to the adventurers to check for themselves.Everything seemed fine, until Slag accidentally punched through a wall, revealing a passgae, as well as it's creator, an ankheg, and it's masters, a few thugs, behind it. The party lept immediatly into action, tearing down the rest of the wall as Ashmock run through the hole to take the burnt of the attackers, for a second there he wavered, almost dead from the wounds, but invigorated by his rage he started hacking away at the giant insect. The thieves were carring a few hacked off eleven heads with them, probably to dump inside the ritual room of the halforc. Should the guard had found them there, and havent seen the rogues, it would most certainly cost the old man his head, something that would make a huge halforc population riot against the guard.
Behind the hole, an extensive tunnel netowrk was found, and apart from an ankheg that decided that nude is the new black, and seared with it's acid most of the company's clothes (and subsequently flesh, but that wasnt as hilarious), the rest of the caverns were cleared. With three ladders leading to trapdoors the party started opening them one by one, the first lead to an empty small house in the slums, an incospicuous entrance for the thieves. The second one lead to a weird house that seemed to have been looted clean, had some ecret doors as well as some traps, all sprung out a few months back.
The last one though just lead to a new underground passage. The party started making it's way, only to find out that it was immense in distance, they hardened on, and after a couple of hours of exhausting march beneath the surface, they found an exit. The trapdoor lead to a hidden space in a well maintained building. As the party was searching the main room, a disquisting undead looking snake lept at Hayden beneath the table, and with a single bite he dropped him paralyzed. As the adventurers regrouped and flanked the contruct, it started moving in a mesmerizing pattern, almost knocking all of the into a dazed trance, but with teamwork and guts, the party managed to slay the beast.
The enemies defeated, they searched the place at their leisure, realizing they were in the noble district, inside the house of a dead noblewoman whose name had caused quite a ruckus when she had died (and her daughter kidnapped) the party took the long way back.They were met with a harty group of halforcs wielding pickaxes, that rushed downstairs to seal the passage, and a pouch of gold each, courtesy of the old halforc. They quickly rushed to the guardhouse, reporting the safehouses, as well as receiving a bit of personal reward there from the captain for the slaughter of thieves.
