Character name: Atis the minstrel, chronicler and teller of tales.
Character & description: Atis is a middle aged man of average height with a lanky build. He has warm amber eyes, short black hair accented by jets of grey and his skin is tanned by long years spent on the road. He wears brown leather breeches, a greyish cloth shirt and cloak. All of his clothes look ragged and heavily mended, the shirt and cloak look like they used to be different colours but have since been bleached by extended exposure to the sun. He always carries around his journal, a thick oilskin covered book, in which he writes any story he deems worthy to be recorded.
Background Information: Atis' father and mother where traveling minstrels, at age 8 his mother died and his father left him in rook as an apprentice to Lesim Hyne a former minstrel who owned an inn called "The Untold Story" in the southern district. After 8 years of training in the art of telling stories and performing at the inn Atis set out on his own travelling all over Eramar. When he finally got back to rook after 20 years of travelling his former master had died and the city was in worse shape then ever. But he also saw greatness and even divinity in the common people still living their lives and doing their duties, forever struggling through their hopeless lives. He abandoned his life of wandering to settle in Rook and convince the people that they are just as heroic as the heroes he told stories about. His ambition is to start a religion worshipping the divinity that exists in everyone and is expressed primarily through creativity, love and duty.
I've also written the background story from Atis' perspective which you can read HERE, I didn't want to clutter up the application too much so I kept it as a google doc.
