Naya Sharpe
Race: Half-Elf
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Eyes: Green
Hair: Blond
Clothing: Loose fitting green-Grey clothing, which doesn't restrict movement, finely made leather boots, backpack filled with scrolls, papers, notes, and books. Rapier with her initials engraved on the hilt.
Background:
Born the daughter of Tarold Sharpe, wealthy adventurer, and an unknown elven woman, Naya Sharpe had the world handed to her on a silver platter. From an early age, Naya's father personally trained her spellcraft, and swordplay by wandering adventurers and saw to it that she was tutored in history, natural philosophy and ethical philosophy by the college's best and brightest. After completing her education, and with the weight of expectation on her shoulders, she entered the college. Over the next eleven years, Naya took classes on every topic, with no rhyme or reason informing her choices. Sometimes signing up for a class, only to forget all about it by the second week; never coming close to finishing a degree. During her college years, she first encountered a priest of Desna, goddess of travel and luck; happy to find another kindred spirit Naya disappeared for over a year to wander Eramar with him.
Upon returning, Tarold issued an ultimatum, Naya would be cut off from the family fortune until she finished her education and, in his words, "achieved something worth of recognition." To help her on her way, Tarold got her a job working for the head of the archeology department, a sour Elf named Dmitri.

There it was, just a few inches from Naya’s grasp lay the legendary of diamond of pricelessness, all she had to do was reach out and take it. But it couldn’t be that easy? Could it? No, of course not. Naya carefully studied the pedestal, and aha, there it was, she pulled out her lucky lockpicks, and set to work. The mechanism was complex, but for a world famous adventurer, duelist, and actress, this was all part of a day’s work. The trap gave way with a satisfying click, after taking a deep breath; she reached out and took the diamond.
A loud rumbling filled the chamber. Curses, there must have been a back up trap which she didn’t see. Diamond in hand, Naya sprinted out of the temple, just as it collapsed into the volcano forever.
There was already a crowd outside waiting for her, when she raised the diamond to show she was successful, they started chanting.
Naya. Naya! NAYA!
She sat up with a jerk, to see Dmitri’s sour face staring up at her.
“Sleeping on the job again Ms. Sharpe?” He asked, angrily.
“No, I uh, was just, uh, keeping these papers weighted down. To keep them from blowing away,” she responded, sleepily.
“With your face? In this windowless basement?” The elf asked.
“Yesssssss?”
The elf sighed in exasperation. “Ms. Sharpe, you’ve been working for me for nearly six months now, and so far you’ve done nothing but sleep and neglect your paperwork.”
“But it’s so boooooring. Why can’t I go out and do interesting work again? I mean, remember the fireball trap, no one in the camp was willing to get near it but-”
The elf rubbed his temples, “when I gave you this job, I had hoped you’d be little more like your father. He was willing to turn in his paperwork on time, in triplicate.”
“But he also got to work in the field and actually do things, and have adventures, and explore stuff; not waste his talents sitting in a windowless basement filling out,” she glanced at the papers covering the desk, “descriptions of ancient chamber pot shards. I really think I can be good at this job, I just… can’t fill out paperwork when so much out there.”
Dmitri sneered, "until you've proven yourself, your job is to do what I tell you, when I tell you, exactly as I tell you to do it."
"I--" Naya tried to interrupt, before the gnome raised his hand and cut her off.
"Don't. You know what? I don't even know why I'm angry at you, this isn't your fault, it's my fault. I was wrong to assume that you'd be able to live up to your family name. I don't know what I expected from the half--"
"I quit." Naya said quietly.
"Excuse me?" Dmitri blustered, "Do you have any idea who I am? What I've done for you? How many students would kill to be in your shoes?"
Naya stood up, and looked the elf directly in the eye, "I don't care. I quit." She turned, and walked towards the door.
Dmitri stared after her for a second, speechless at her audacity. As she opened the door, he regained his composure, "You won't work in this department again!" He called after her, "I'll--I'll have the dean--"
Naya slammed the door.
She grabbed her cloak off a rack by the door, and headed out in the dull grey afternoon.
Now what?
