Character Name: Armel (of the forest, bear-cub, etc)
Character & Description:
Armel has the reedy, stretched look of a boy not yet full grown. His black-eyed, intense looks are softened by the friendly look he has and the obvious curiosity he exudes. His clothes and armor are made or wolf-skin and oak, and he carries no weapon. Underneath his clothes, his sickness is evident in the way his ribs are exposed and the way his muscles have atrophied.
Background Information:
Armel is a human boy of 16 years, abandoned since birth in the deep forest for reasons unknown. He was adopted by, and has lived among, bears his entire natural life. Even living ferally in the wild, hints of noble birth showed through and Armel thrived where many animals, much less people, would die. As he grew Armel learned well the wisdom of the natural world, and was content for a time with his place in the wild. Only last year, a restless Armel shirked his duties to his family in favor of exploring the forest. When he encountered a strange being skulking through the wood, he attempted to scare it away from his families territory. The being attacked viciously, and it was all Armel could do to save the life of his younger brother and escape alive. The wounds dealt to Armel were infected when winter set in, and all season long he struggled for life. In the end, he would live, but his fever had ravaged his once-strong body and he was left with a persistent cough. He could no longer thrive in the forest. His mother, a truly old and wise bear by this point, counseled him to seek his parents and learn to live as a man if he could no longer live as a bear. And so, Armel entered civilization for the first time, accompanied by Brother the bear.
Armel has only recently returned to human lands, but already his instincts and some half-dreamt-up memories urge him to go to the place called Rook. He seeks his family, and more generally he desires to learn more about what it means to live as a human.
