Overview:
Our tale begins with Mierre conversing with his recently acquired foster daughter thing, when he is suddenly interrupted by the sound of Lord Darynn ringing the bell to call him. Lord Darynn informs that the company of miners they have sent to refurbish the mines have been being harassed by gnolls, apparently remnants from what the previous group had cleared out. Mierre gathers Primrose and Finn, who set out to the mining office to get more details on the situation form the foreman.
At the mining office they run into Azziel, who was already looking into the mines. The Ser Micheal, now just Foreman Micheal, informs the group that he's lost some good men near some hills and woods to the east, and that some men have escaped from the gnolls and reported seeing unusually large specimens. He marks where he lost the most men for the group, who decide to spend the night at the outpost and set out tomorrow morning to deal with the situation.
Near the area they run into two rather larger gnolls, one of which nearly feral, having a collar around it's neck with a chain held by it's more intelligent seeming, armor wearing handler. The group managed to dispatch the gnolls, but not before Finn charges both of them and is subsequently mangled. On the gnolls they find another crude map with only three locations marked, the mine, the mining outpost, and a nearby cave.
The party comes to the obvious conclusion and heads to the marked cave, finding the ruins of some underground dungeon. The move through the area, dispatching some more freakishly large gnolls and their handlers. They notice that the gnolls have made quite a bit off their raiding, and have accumulated a number of miscelanous things, such as unicorn rug which Mierre appropriate for Maria.
Eventually they come upon a rather larger locked door, and hear some curious whispering in their minds about wanting to play a game. The room inside is pitch black, and after realizing the the doors behind them have been sealed, they decide to confront the creature, who confesses to have some knowledge about Lord Darynn. The group fights a long battle against a freakish blue creature with acidic, iron hard skin, during which Azziel went comatose. After a hard fight, the party manages to force the creature to retreat with it's teleportation, and it leaves them some partying gifts, an obscure book titled "Histories of Minor Lords of Rook and the Surrounds", and several potions that provide a curious sort of healing. The group returns to both Foreman Micheal and Lord Darynn, and are subsequently paid.
Wasn't sure what ya'll wanted to do with the non-gold loot. Let me know.
