Miere: 917gp (+1 bear, +1 wolf pelts)
Kite: 917gp
Hearing stories of yet more missing children after the theater fiasco, the group of four eventually met up at the good 'ol Golden Plow. Lorek had noticed some of his students had gone missing, Deverdon couldn't get hammered enough to ignore a sobbing father, while Miere and Lorek were just flat out asked by the guards to once again do their jobs for them. After wishing for the quick replacement of his son, Capitalist and Miere managed to get some contact information for a father's son's associates. Choosing between neighbors, friends, or the boy's teacher, the group headed to the Hearth district to harass another father. Miere wisely chose to have Capitalist stay out of sight this time, and after explaining the situation, were allowed to speak with a friend of the missing child. They learned the boy had joined a club of some sort, but other than that they didn't get much information out of him. Deciding going to the school would be a waste at such a late hour, the group proceeds to some neighbors of the boy, quickly changing their minds when they realized they could just check out the boy's house itself.
After some ace detective work they found the boy's "Adventure Journal" hidden beneath some clothing in his wardrobe. The journal detailed the formation of the group due to neglectful parents, and the slow descent of the children trying to get away from home to view nature, to going out in the middle of the night and seeing what trouble they could get into in a forest to the east. The journal also detailed the name of their driver- John Smith, of the southern slums. Finding out that there was only one such man who owned a cart in the slums, the group quickly hired him to take them to the forest where he'd drop the children off.
Once the group arrived at the forest, they began their midnight stroll down a path they believed to be the one the children used. Tripping a magical alarm, several animals came in to attack the party, but Capitalist quickly left them as stains on the ground. Eventually they arrived at a small shack, where a ranger took shelter, as well as his horde of wolves, bears, and boars. What were supposed to be his army turned into his only defense against a pouncing capitalist. Unfortunately for him there were also three other members of the party, who quickly began throwing sparkles, oil, and arrows at him and his animal compatriots. Once the crowd of animals was whittled down, the ranger quickly became a paste once capital had a line on him. Meanwhile, his animal companion and alpha wolf to the rest of the pack was continuously tripping on grease while being stabbed by an also tripped Azziel.
All said and done, the group had a mountain of corpses, as well as a bunch of starved children to take home, which they believed was strange considering every other child that goes missing in rook usually ends up dead or permanently broken. In the end, they even managed to save the father and his son's relationship. And nobody else's. 1/10, would adventure again.
