Character Name: Mulog Gnir & Odorf (Badger)
Notes: I'm operating under the assumption that having Saranae as Mulog's deity will give proficiency with the scimitar.
Character & Description:
A wretched, dark-skinned goblin. Mulog is dressed in ratty leather and tightly clutches a small white envelope in his hand. First glance seems to suggest that Mulog is like any other goblin, but closer observation reveals a surprising economy of movement and quick steps -- suggesting incredible dexterity and coordination. He is difficult to keep track of in a crowd, and he uses his small stature to great advantage to disappear from the gaze of curious onlookers.
At his side pads an enormous badger, Odorf. Black and white stripes line the length of Odorf's body, but the once-pristine pattern is now crisscrossed by a patchwork of old scars. Surprisingly, the savage-looking badger is utterly subservient and dog-like in behavior towards Mulog.
Background Information:
Mulog has always been a good goblin. Mulog wakes up at the same time everyday, Mulog sleeps early every day, and Mulog prays to the most convenient god (Saranare, who has the closest temple) each day. His lifestyle is a result of constant raids and attacks from 'adventurers,' who would always come along and kill all his closest friends for seemingly no reason. To avoid suspicion and assault, Mulog has build the most idyllic, most peaceful-looking house in an attempt to redirect the too-common raiding parties towards his unfortunate neighbors. Mulog is very proud of his humble abode, walls made of sturdy rock and a nicely thatched roof, Mulog can see why humans chose this form for their dwelling. Much more comfortable than silly mud huts or bone houses, and it doesn't even burn down when lighting a fire inside, genius!
However, one day, his entire life was flipped upside down when an absentminded wizard wandered into his home. Fladnag, the wizard, was dressed in a completely ridiculous set of wizard robes -- grey from top to bottom. Seeing some strange potential in Mulog, Fladnag bound the poor, non-consenting goblin to complete inane adventure to bring an envelope to some mountain. Having kicked Mulog out of his house, and magically bound him to never return home, Flagnag felt a little bit bad, and in a peverse action of good will, the charmed a badger lurking near Mulog's window into subservience. Mulog, now saddled with Odorf the badger, is then sent off on some 'epic quest' to destroy a little envelope in the 'fires of Mt Doom.' What bullocks.
Magically bound from returning home, Mulog is forced to proceed with this increasingly-ridiculous quest with the now-extremely-loyal Odorf padding by his side. After walking long and far, and facing far too many angry farmers with pitchforks, Mulog and Odorf find themselves in the gates in front of Rook.
No pitchforks
No angry mobs
No hostile guards
...Maybe Mulog can find help to break Fladnag's spell in this sprawling metropolis. It certainly is the least hostile city he's been to so far...
