Background: It can be said that a man’s legacy is his children, but what is the legacy of a man who never sired any? That is a question that has plagued Cayden Granitfall. He was a crafting wizard by trade, a somewhat rare commodity in most dwarven societies. He had spent most of his life using magic to shape the world and study it’s intricacy’s. It had been and still was his passion, but it had waned somewhat as he grew older. His products were top notch but were not something that people would remember a hundred years from now. As his time grew closer and his body older, Cayden often looked back on his life and was disappointed. He had grown exceptionally good at crafting but had no legacy to pass it down too. No apprentices to teach, and no children to love. He was too old now to sire any children, and no apprentices had yet caught his attention.
It was during his research into some of the more forbidden crafts that he came across an answer to his problems. It was research on how to implant a brain into a construct to give it intelligence. The research was only rudimentary and the person had not yet figured out how to give true intelligence to a construct. It was still a start, and given some time and work he might be able to further the work to give a construct full sentience.
