Player Loot:
Luis Kale: 2900gp, 3 Influence.
Bishop: 3700gp, 3 Influence.
Melinda: 3700gp, 3 Influence.
Saathe: 3700gp, 3 Influence.
Marcus Aur: 3700gp, 4 Influence.
Lanward Tirnel: 3700gp, 3 Influence.
2 Influence base, +1 for completing the job with intact and undamaged corpses. +1 to Marcus for being the party face and avoiding conflict with Imperials, following their request.
Employed by Commander Bergstein to travel a couple of weeks to the east of Rook to interact with the nomads living on the plains and effectively grave rob from a holy site, the adventurers headed off to obtain some handy corpses. The explanation received was that the bodies, and skulls specifically, would be useful for a project Rook was working on to promote trade and so forth, somehow. Not really questioning it thanks to being offered money, the group indeed travelled and reached their destination with only the mild inconvenience of a night timed badger. Once meeting up with their contact, it was found that the nomads were indeed some pretty friendly people overall. The contact was more than happy to give information for no cost thanks to having a good working relationship with the Commander.
With directions, everyone traveled towards the site only to find a camp unusually set up around it. After spending a day waiting just in case, they finally approached and Marcus noticed the heraldry displayed was that of his own house, much to his (and my) surprise). Negotiations went very smoothly, and Marcus was intrigued to note the man in charge was a former vassal servant of his family. How suspicious. Regardless, the group were allowed to go underground to get the bodies they needed as long as they left any equipment behind.
Once underground people quickly noticed something was wrong, as several of the adventurers began to lose colour overall, as if it was being leeched from them as an entity. With some becoming almost monochrome, the group quickly forged their way downwards to try and encounter what was causing such a detrimental effect. Other victims were shown in the lower levels, perfect renditions of people as flat as artwork upon the stone walls - all essence of their being and reality leeched by the entity below. Marcus, sensing that some of the party were going to be in serious trouble soon, quickly rushed ahead to confront what appeared to be a small childlike figure of non-euclidean light and colours wafting through the air. Though half the group was struck blind they managed to prevail, regardless of friendly fire lightning bolts. With the creature departing the material realm, the group slowly recovered their vitality as they obtained the corpses perfectly intact and returned them to Rook for payment and accolades.
