While doing supply runs for local shops of Abadar a friend let Jhuriel know about a local mine owner in need of assistance. The iron mine they owned was being overrun by kobolds despite the efforts of a group of a previous group of adventurers and was beginning to disrupt some of the flow of iron into the city. Decided to help Jhuriel went to the plow to see if anyone he knew was available where he found the group talking to a new arrival in Rook Ben. As the group made small talk about various deformities, oddities and different alchemical methods the subject of the job came up and everyone agreed.
After an hour a highly out of place woman walked into the bar with her young son, after looking about confused she was approached by Jhuriel who asked who she was looking for. After she explained she was the owner of the mine after her husband had died Jhuriel let her know that they were the group she was looking for and she gave a quick explanation of her situation. After a previous group of adventurers had been hired by her husband to get rid of the kobolds but instead left carrying the body of a monster they claimed was masquerading as her husband the Kobold attacks only got worse and now the mine was unapproachable.
The group agreed to go down with Yazuki, one of the adventures who had gone down previously, as the guide. As they entered Ben began loudly slamming the floor in front of him with a tree limb, in spite of Barley's protests, hoping to trigger any traps before he stepped on them. However after his arms started to get tired he decided it was probably not the best idea.
After a bit the party began to approach the location of the previous skirmish with the kobolds they began to move more cautiously with Ben once again taking the lead and taking an arrow to the shoulder from a hidden trap. Not long after the party was ambushed by a small group of kobolds hiding in small tunnels inside the walls. After a short skirmish they continued onward with attempting to follow the kobold tracks deeper into the tunnels.
After getting slightly lost, and them more lost the party found itself face to face with strange mushroom covered cricket monster however they quickly dispatched it and continued wandering about until they entered a larger set of caves where they found A single kobold in passably well kept robes standing in their way.
Demanding they leave before he ordered they be attacked, Barley managed to overcome his clearly hostile disposition and get him to parley. The kobold detailed a very different story than the one the party had received from Mrs. Rallgarden, in which a powerful kobold arrived and began uniting the tribes after an attack by men from above, until he was found dead in roughly the same area that Yazuki and the other party had fought the kobolds before. After much discussion in which Ben argued for a more aggressive approach the deal was almost reached, they would return all the supplies they had left and the party would ensure that the miners no longer passed a certain point. After Deverdon noticed the kobolds being untruthful they were confronted and admitted that one of the three local tribes would certainly reject the deal. The party offered to destroy them, thus giving the current tribe more room to expand and eliminating the only tribe that would reject the deal. The chief then asked them to leave saying that they must handle the BloodClaws at the latter date.
From there the party returned with both the remaining ore and several miners who had survived being captured. One of the miners seemed very interested in adventuring and several members of the group offered to give him pointers if he as he offered to buy them drinks at the Golden Plow. After delivering everything Mrs. Rallgarden offered to contact their usual buyers and handle the sale of the ore in thanks for her husbands mine being reopened. The party then returned to Rook.
