Character Name: Ben(jamin) Weese
Because I don't trust the PDF thing, I'm also posting the equivalent myth-weaver sheet.
Character & Description:
Ben layers himself in clothing whenever he is in or near civilized society, as he's learnt his condition can easily incite a panic. If a significant portion of his body becomes visible, onlookers would see haphazard patches of jet-black across Ben's body, which can easily be mistaken at a glance for the bubonic plague. If a closer inspection is made, these black patches are actually scales (see the background story for how, see the feats chosen for why). Usually in a drunken state if he can help it.
Background Information:
Ben has led a troubled life. He never knew his father, and his mother refused to speak of him. He became unnaturally curious of ways to learn the truth, and wasted away his childhood on the pursuit. Ben had tried everything from consulting the rumor-mill to asking en masse, but the turning point had to have been the traveling cleric.
Ben never did find out the man's name, but he made a deal with this man. In exchange for a modest price, the diviner would search through his bloodline to find the truth. Ben readily agreed, but was disappointed by the result: the diviner did not speak a name, but rather spoke in curses. He spat Ben's name and said he was the spawn of evil. Ben would never truly be a man, nor would he ever see the light beyond or know of peace. His father was damned and so was he. The diviner threw Ben to the ground and left.
The event had pushed Ben in an entirely new direction. The mixture of fear and curiosity drove him to shut all else out in his life, and turn to what little magic he knew to find a cure. Being a young, inexperienced individual with access to many a strange concoction, he managed to adapt various chemicals and imbue them with just enough magic, all with the intent to target his invisible lineage. This unfortunately succeeded, but rather than purify his humanity, it is slowly wiping it away in lieu of what his father passed onto him.
He has since not known a day without excruciating pain, and has turned to drinking to dull it. He has moved from one township to the next, rarely staying for more than a couple years. He searches for expertise in how to stop fate, or at the very least, undo what has been done.
