With the immenant threat rising, the group sought to converse with as many people as they could to determine what could be done to stop the rise of Nerull to a position of true threat to the material plane. The first port of call was Ganderlay, who was somewhat flummoxed after his initial skepticism. It wasn't often that the 'Heroes of Rook' came to tell him that they'd brought the God of Death, Darkness, Murder and the Underworld itself back in to existence, or at least released him from his aeons long imprisonment. He was largely at a loss for what to do, eventually relating that he would have to go away and talk to those he knew on such a serious matter, as he alone was seriously unprepared for such an eventuality considering the Gods were generally viewed as existent but absent. Discussing where to go next, the group elected to try Cloud City as they knew it had a higher concentration of both arcane and divine spellcasters with which they could help combat the problem. Naya thus went to Nicoroth to organize an audience with influential people - Nicoroth, alarmed at the implications of what he was told, used his contacts to ensure they met with a pair of high ranking clerics of Calistra - people he knew from his organized orgies. The pair of clerics dutifully met the group in a clandestine room, listening with interest. They asked for the casket itself, so that they may contribute their aid, but weren't overly forthcoming as to why they specifically wanted it - a fact which did not sit comfortably with Naya.
Neigh, in his efforts to help, explained that they had been hired by Orashar and the Psionidari. When the clerics professed a lack of knowledge as to know the Psionidari were, Neigh described them as illithids before anyone could stop him. Negotiations immediately broke down as the clerics made a hasty retreat away from the 'Illithid spies' and quickly went to inform others of import. Naya was understandably aggrieved by this and Neigh was confronted with aggression. Confused as he was truly only trying to help, he retreated away to work out what he should be doing to help. Thinking of a great idea, he went off to the Sphinx near Orashar who was effectively a friendly and amenable acquaintance - explaining his situation to her, he asked for her aid in writing a deposition for all that had happened with the rise of Nerull so as to have a handy flyer to hand out to anyone relevant to quickly appraise them of the situation with as many truthful facts as he could. Understanding tact, the Sphinx carefully left off Diane's name on the list of those responsible - effectively turning the flyer in to a note of accusation - the verbage of which Neigh readily agreed to after reading.
Returning to the group, who by now had gone to Orashar to speak of what to do with the Psionidari, Neigh handed them some of the flyers to show them how he had helped out. The group read the flyer quite incredulously, before Varian neatly immolated the small stack of them neigh had presented to the group. Largely condemning Neigh for being useless in that regard, the group went back to discussing what to do as they continued to meet with various people and ask for advice. Miere was one of the next stops and though he didn't have anything specifically prepared he was more than willing to help out where needed with such an appalling occurrence, though his now animated store suggested he wasn't going to be staying long in Rook anyway... Neigh, still confused as to why the group didn't find his flyers, accusing them of a great crime, useful decided to attain legal counsel in Rook and asked for help refining the deposition and distribution to anyone important. The legal counsel dutifully did their job by carefully obscuring Neigh's involvement even more, then agreed to produce and distribute the fliers for a reasonable fee. As such, the papers went out to every single major city state that could be reached by portal, crates of copies also loaded up with merchants traveling all over the continent to spread the news as fast as mortally possible.
Eventually the group returned to Cloud City, only to find that soldiers were going through the portal in groups to attack the lair of evil mindflayers, Orashar. Naya confronted the commander and endeavored to explain that it was a major mistake and that they'd all die, but the commander was having none of it. Ben, who had bumped in to Neigh and ignored the flyers entirely, helped as best he could and the pair of them convinced the commander to send scouts in to investigate how the attack was going. True enough the scouts came back - illithids in flesh disguises. One quickly ran rampant before Naya cornered him, though he believed Naya to be on his side since Orashar weren't the aggressors and was rewarded with only being knocked unconscious. With the commander injured and taken to a temple for recuperation, Naya and Ben quickly went to Orashar as the rest of the group still present did their best to help out. On the Orashar side most of the soldiers who had gone through had been intimidated, their will sapped, in to compliance by a trio of Psionidari who casually informed the pair of adventurers that the advance guard of Cloud City, some 50 soldiers, were pretty much all dead and gone. Naya, aggrieved at this, but at least placated that most of the soldiers had been stopped from attacking, sent them back through the portal. The group had to quickly intervene however as the Cloud City soldiers in the home city attacked those coming through, scared for more infiltrators. Once that was sorted however Naya confronted the commander once again and forcibly organized a peace talk in Rook for Cloud City and Orashar to come to peaceful terms, and for Cloud City's formal apology for attacking with only minor knowledge.
It was at this point that Naya realized the flyers had been distributed round Cloud City, causing her a fair amount of anger. Ben finally read one, incredulous at the stupidity of the act and somewhat vexed that he was listed as responsible. At the peace talks in Rook, Commander Bergstein also called Naya quietly over to the side and handed her a flyer, showing they had gone through most of the city.... Naya was frankly pissed off at this. Regardless, Cloud City formally apologised to the human delegates of Orashar who took it graciously, secure in the knowledge that they would have generally won anyway, and especially comfortable with the fact there were now multiple Psionidari agents in Cloud City anyway thanks to the confusion....
Neigh meanwhile, starting to realize the sheer enormity of what he'd done, retreated to the temple of Desna and asked for asylum, beginning to fear for his safety. It was only reasonable, considering the number of death threats he'd received from the party....
