Ben was delivered an interesting letter by the Psionidari of Orashar on behalf of Hlem Colti - his skills were required as insurance for a mission given to both Varian and Lisa. As the trio visited Orashar, the group split in to two with Ben going to a separate briefing room. Varian and Lisa were asked to scout out the tribes in the jungles where herbs had been obtained, to further discern details about the suspected clerics of Nerull and how they related to the humans there - the stone giants had mentioned an uneasy truce with the clerics since they had assumed they were helping pick off the humans, but the Psionidari were skeptical of such a dynamic. Ben, in the different room, was asked to provide the other pair with backup and, most importantly, to kill as many tribes members as possible in a fairly simple manner of preventing the clerics of Nerull from having anyone worthwhile to interact with. Ben expressed some concern with such random murder, until the culture was explained - the humans were cannibals who abducted other sentient beings and scarified them to a goddess. Ben was then perfectly okay with killing them all.
Given a teleportation orb, the trio set off to the jungle and soon enough found an indigenous child. Varian attempted to chat to the kid before he started taking pot shots at the group. It wasn't until he started lobbing blood-draining carnivorous plants at Ben that negotiations truly broke down, Ben pouncing and ripping the child apart. This happened a few times, Ben often melting various people with his acid, before the group moved on, only to be ambushed by a practiced hunter from a different tribe, armed to the teeth with poisoned darts and knives. Ben once again took to the fore with the support of the others and eventually ripped the poor man apart, being careful to remove his poisoned weaponry to later perusal. With the remains of the children and the ambusher transported in a stolen cauldron as a potential cannibalistic gift to placate the next tribe, eventually the group managed to stumble across yet another tribe.
The gift was duly considered before the tribe attacked in earnest, causing Varian to wonder why he was even bothering to try and be diplomatic. Before he could wonder too much however one of the sorcerous Witch Doctors managed to cast a mighty spell on Varian, reducing him to a slightly drooling idiot who was greatly scared of the large fireballs - Varian ran, pursued by fire. Lisa was similarly feebleminded, but defaulted to punching the utter crap out of the guy who did it to her, blowing apart his lower spine and most of his internal organs, much to his surprise. After Ben finished melting everyone else opposing them he was treated to the job of spending over half an hour tracking down Lisa and Varian and shepherding them together to teleport back to Orashar. With his two charges slightly 'simple', Ben took them to MIere for a quick Healing session before going back to their employer to deliver what information they had. From what little conversation they had managed, it seemed like the Nerull followers turned up to recruit, rather than abduct. This didn't particularly bode well. They had also found out about one of the main ziggurats where sacrifices were taken. It seemed like that was probably going to be an important location to visit.
