Ben Weese: 5700gp
Rainen: 5700gp
Being contacted by Dekkahar once again, Naya went to scout out her allies to meet up with the Thanadaemon for more information. On her way to gather the others she came across Slag, an archer of good repute she knew and thus he was invited along, being filled in en route. After Ben and Rainen joined up, Naya as before walked them through the shadow plane and to Abaddon to visit Dekkahar. As before he greeted them and invited them within his tarp office where brand new furniture, still made of people, awaited and invited them all to sit. His searches had been fruitsless - the forts were all abandoned, the artifacts hidden and he'd found no trace of Apollyon's plans still around as far as he could tell. What had happened however was he'd been given a letter addressed to the group by the nondescript man, and a small chest for Naya from the man with the golden eyes. Looking in to the chest Naya found an ampule of celestial blood and a communion wafer symbolizing celestial flesh, and closed the chest quietly to save it for later. The letter was more curious - it was from a 'Jonathan Smith' who proposed that they meet on neutral ground, like the plane of shadow. Discussing with Dekkahar, he largely washed his hands of their employment pointing out that without Apollyon's forces bothering him on his home turf he wasn't able to help out much, but would still be happy to inform them should anything come up. Whilst the group waited outside Ben had a quick conversation and drink before rejoining, at which point Naya took them to the shadow realm once more.
There and waiting was Jonathan. He'd even set up a folding table and deckchairs plus tea and scones and invited them to join him. Noting he wasn't evil, Naya, Rainen and Ben did so whilst Slag stayed back based on what he had been told. Once discerning that everyone was going to be civil, Jonathan revealed the hidden Viltritch who just so happened to be another of the generals - the undead lich himself. He was in a somewhat grumpy mood, escalated immensely when Lorek Ra'dari was mentioned as he related 'the bastard has my damn arm' which seemed to vex him greatly. Regardless the group conversed with Jonathan to find out what the offer was - leave them alone with their preparations and they'd attack the material plane last, in a few hundred years. Naya rejected this as even though it postponed a bad outcome for a while, it'd still happen and being functionally immortal would mean it'd still be a personal issue. Jonathan understood where the group was coming from as they began to discuss motivations for employment and what his goals were, culminating in his enthusiasm for merging all the cosmological planes in to a single massive metaphysical library containing all existing and potential knowledge in order to elevate everyone to an informed and empowered person. Though a noble goal, Naya was concerned with his approach considering it could annihilate the planes as a whole, so agreed to work with him on his goal and help construct such a wonderful place in a separate region, without necessarily folding in or destroying any planes. In addition, Jonathan agreed that once the party felt they were ready for it then he'd be able to set up an audience with the entity calling itself Apollyon and would work towards prolonging the start of the implementation of the plans. Viltritch honestly didn't care as long as he had access to arcane research and materials, so was content to go along with the agreement. Even so, Jonathan said he'd feed Naya and co information concerning where to attack to best disrupt Apollyon's machinations. It seemed like the fight had shifted from frontal assault to guerrilla warfare.
After the deal had been brokers, Naya decided to finally drink the ampule of liquid and eat the wafer, disappearing in a blaze of light and glory, only to return 10 minutes later as a semi-celestial version of herself, radiating the power of goodand smugness. Returning herself and the others to Rook, she then proceeded to visit Miere, Bergstein, ganderlay and other important inhabitants to inform them of her ascension and thus keep them in the loop directly rather than relying on rumours and hearsay. Miere was particularly impressed with her wings, and gifted her a small orchid mantis as congratulations on her achievement. Everyone else, meanwhile, went home and began to plan for the tasks to come.
