Journal:
Mayor Lord Barsol of Milksop Falls, in southern Havengar wrote to the Golden Plow to ask the adventurers in Rook to come investigate some disappearances in his town. Children have been disappearing at night and the only clues have been some clear jelly like material left behind and a sighting of a purple haired woman sticking her head through a window at a failed kidnapping. The heroes mount up and ride through Lorda (stopping in Sirisea for an impromptu dinner party and to let Lisa catch up) before riding on to Milksop Falls.
There they find that the Mayor has grathered the entire town into a field in order to try to find safety in numbers. Neigh interviews some children (finding one with sticky fingers for berries) and they find out the the purple haired woman was likely a drow. The adventurers decide to go into the mines immediately.
The go into the mines and run into some scout spiders. The party decides to kill the scout psionic Dream Spider and then they split up. The arcane casters deal with several intelligent swarms of spiders. Lisa breaks off and sneaks her way into the purple Drider's bedchamper through a small tunnel. There she fights off against the two light skinned female driders while the drow-skinned drider is supervising and teaching.
In the main room, the rest of the party attack the male black drider. The black drider is a powerful psychic and very strong, but fails to the party. Nearly immidately afterwards, the spiders and driders begin surrendering.
The purple haired drider named Libbranya explains how her "husband" had found her in the underdark about a year prior and forced her to transform the children in order to help him form an army. She explained how she had lived in the underdark for several hundred years and knew of some of the old rituals to transform elves into driders. Her husband had learned many of the secrets of the mind and could bring awareness to normally mindless spiders. He saw a future in which he would rule a kingdom as their priest-king. She saw him as a cultist with a self-destructive desire for power. She survived, he didn't.
The adventurers then had to deal with the problem of the former half-elf and elven children who had been turned into driders. Four of the six children (two were once raised), wanted to return back to Milksop Falls to rejoin their family. However a pair of fifteen year old wanted to run away, due to their parents not wanting them to date. The party offers to bring back the four children and get the mayor to try to work out a compromise. He offers up a deal where the children will be joint custody of Libbranya and their birth parents for the next four years until they can decide as adults.
The party search the caves and find a brass spider and some very old coins. They also manage to get paid by the mayor (and Lisa helps herself to a tip).
Neigh offers up some weregild to Libbranya for the spiders the party had slain. She demurred, saying that the drider children were the ones she was concerned with, the psychic spiders were her husbands, but if he insists, that they can use the old drow tradition of "blood for blood" and he can give a vial of his blood. He accepts and gives Libbranya a flask of his blood.

The Spider Nursery Rhyme:
Spider, Spider, Climbing on the wall,
Hit it with a broom and watch it fall.
Scurry, Worry, Runs away.
There'll be two in another day.
Spider, Spider, sitting on the bed,
Crush it, stomp it, mash its head.
Scurry, wooble, Runs away.
There'll be three in another day.
Spider, Spider, hanging from a peg,
Tear up its web and break a leg.
Scurry, schemes, Runs Away.
There'll be four in another day.
Spider, Spider, watching You sleep,
crawls in your hair without a peep.
Poison and Magic, Make you pay.
There'll be five in another day.
Hit it with a broom and watch it fall.
Scurry, Worry, Runs away.
There'll be two in another day.
Spider, Spider, sitting on the bed,
Crush it, stomp it, mash its head.
Scurry, wooble, Runs away.
