[[Please see the bottom of the post for updates]]
Signs and whispers have appeared all throughout the town with the same general theme:
Enjoy this most festive of occasions with a round of ale and games galore. Ask some of the most enterprising of magic users how it's done and see many new and innovative magical inventions.
Best of all, sign up to participate in the arena, where fighters of similar skill will battle it out for wealth and glory! No murders here, the fights are sure to be spectacular!
The Rules:
This "session" is primarily a contest between players. As noted, there will be no character deaths or lasting penalties for participation. Signing up means consenting to "PvP", with the caveat that your items or level are not at risk.
Having noted that, the use of any charged items or one-time-use items (such as wands or potions) DOES consume the item or charge(s). You will have 3 rounds in which to prepare in any manner you feel is appropriate.
Note that all of your fighting is also within the same day. That means that use of powers, spells, abilities, etc. in one match count for future matches. For example, if you have three 3rd level spell slots and you prepare and cast a spell using one of those slots, you'll only have two of those slots available for future matches. All spellcasters must submit a list of their spells prior to any battles in their bracket. Failure to do so means that their available spells will be randomly selected. This holds true for anything else that must be prepared in advance.
As another example, take a Monk's Ki Points. If the Monk spends 2 of them in their first fight, those are 2 points they can't use in future fights.
Note that the session may be extended to another day if the time stretches too far. We will begin with the 3-4 bracket and work down. It's expected each bracket will take 2-4 hours to complete.
Rewards:
Rewards will be as follows, and are based on the upper level of the bracket IE 4-5 would be rewards based on 5th level.
1st Place: 2x Session Rewards
2nd Place: 1.66x Session Rewards
3rd Place: 1.33x Session Rewards
4-6th Place: 1x Session Rewards
7-8th Place: 0.75x Session Rewards
Each bracket will also contain a Style Prize for best Role Play, unconventional or clever move, etc. and it isn't guaranteed to be the top prize winners.
Signing Up:
You are allowed to sign up with ONE character PER BRACKET. This means you may participate in every bracket IF you have enough characters for all brackets and IF that bracket isn't filled. When signing up, the character order matters. Each person's first choice of character will be considered first, then their second choice, then their third choice, etc. This is to ensure that, if the sign-ups are very popular, as many people as possible will be able to participate.
Sign-ups will be until Monday, May 11th at 1800 EST (6 PM). In some cases certain games from different brackets may be available depending upon who can be there, though it's preferred that all participants be available at once.

Entering In The Contest:
Please post the characters you would like to enter and their levels below. Remember to clearly mark your order of preference, otherwise the order you enter them will be the assumed ordering.
Addendum 5/8/2015 @ 12:51 PM EST:
I had assumed there would be a great variety of people available this evening, though that appears to not be the case. So, for the moment some matches are postponed. The new plan is likely to hold matches whenever a group of people are available and there's no other game going on. The new standard will be to complete 5 matches to receive placement, with some possible extra matches as necessary to better fill out the rankings.
Sign-ups will therefore extend until Monday, 5/11/2015 at 1800 (6 PM) EST!
